Hi All,

 

I have a data in cross tab and would like to format the data based on the data present in the report. Currently the report has the sample data as below

 

For Eg :

 

                  Hire date      Current Salary   Increment Salary   Change in %  

Id  Name   11-20-2014           1111                2222                    100            and so on...

 

I want to change the format to below :

 

                  Hire date      Current Salary   Increment Salary   Change in % 

Id  Name   11-20-2014          $1111              $2222                    100%

 

 

Is there a way to do format the data in a cross tab. if yes, then please let me know how to do that. Thanks In advance.

Hi All,

 

I have few questions on SAP BO connectivity and implementation.

 

We have a source system called Focus ERP and we need to develop BO reports on this sources system.

 

I would like to know how to connect Focus ERP system and how to develop various reports in BO.

 

I have searched in SCN for this information, but I did not find any clue.

 

Please help me to understand this requirement.

Hello All,

 

I have booked date for BO 4.1 Webi intelligence exam (C_BOWI_4.1). I am planning to give it on self study only. It would be great if you can  guide me with your experience  so that I can focus on the most important topics first while preparing. I just have 1 month to prepare for this certification.

 

I am currently working on BO 4.1 client tools.

How can I make the join/ which join I have to use for getting this below out put in report level.

Hi Team System Environment: SAP BW 7.1 & BO 4.1 SP4 Issue-BO Web intelligence reports not displaying list of values for variables while running query Info-provider for Bex query  -BW Cube Source for Webi-Report      -Bex query Connection type                  -BICS Connection we have design a BO WebIntelligence report on top of Bex query using BICS connection with couple of Variables When Bex query is executed in BW Environment able to see LOV's for variable When BO Webi report is executed unable to see LOV's for same Variable can any one suggest possible solutions Regards Bose

Hello ,

 

Any body faced this error (Failed to retrieve the cube for connection (xyz).(Error:INF)????

 

Replication steps: Open the webi report in Launchpad-> refresh the report--> error appears.

 

Component info:

BOBJ Version: SAP BI 4.1 sp2 version 14.1.2.1121)

Report: Webi report

Source:BEX/CUBE

Connection: OLAP

BW : SAP BW 7.3

 

At first i have checked the user availability ( lock or unlock)  olap connection --- locked --- hence unlocked the user from BW

 

but still the issue is remains...

 

What my thought is: Cube or Bex or un available..?/inactive?secured bex query?

 

kindly suggest on this.

 

Note : Don't have access to BW,BEX..

Hi,

we are using BO4.0 SP7and we are going to upgrade to 4.1 but we don't know which version should we choose.

I read somewhere that SAP recommend some version and SP. Has anybody heard about it?

Or which version do you recommed?

 

We are going to use 4.1 SP3

Hi Gurus,

 

I have an urgent requirement in my current project as below

 

I am building a webi report based on bex query(By using BICS Connection), in my prompts i have key date it is not object it is a variable in bex query

my requirement is if user enter date it should show week number  and year.

 

Example:

 

If user enter keydate 12/31/2013 it should show 52.2013 and in another blank cell 51.2013.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi ,

 

When am trying to refresh the report am getting the attached error and my reports are working till that before suddenly i got the below mentioned error.

I tried creating New webi report but am unable to create 

 

"error when trying to refresh the current report"

 

 

Please find the attached the errors for the same.

 

 

Kindly help me out of the issue.

Hi,

 

Just checking whether i can make a hierarchy with expand and collapse on a webi report on BO 4.1.

 

I have created custom hierarchies in universe and tried to pull that in webi, but not getting the expand and collapse + sign.

Wherever appropriate is it better to use line charts over column charts in terms of performance?

 

E.g. For charts showing head count trending or utilization trends or any kind of trends, one could show it as a line chart of column chart.

 

Note: My question is purely directed towards performance and not towards what's a better representation.

Hi Guys,

 

I have 2 data sources in my Webi Report (BO 4.1) that are merged on Project ID. I have created detail variables for all the columns in the report besides the Project ID which is the merged object.

 

The report columns contain the merged Project ID, 2 dimension object from Data Source A, 1 dimension and 1 measure object from Data Source B. The dimension object (Char) from Data Source B can have multiple values, which I why I am getting a "Multivalue Error" for some rows in that column.

 

Now, when I insert the actual dimension object from Data Source B and not the detail variable, the Mutivalue Error goes away and I get the result in multiple rows for multiple dimensional values . However, doing this only displays rows that have a measure value and not the ones that do not have a measure value (blank).

 

Could anyone please help me resolve this issue so that I can get multiple dimension values in multiple rows for all measure values?

Dear Team,

I have successfully installed SAP BI 4.0 Tools [client] in my local system but whenever I am running this Business View Manager, its showing Login Error. Please help me out with a favourable solution. All the installation steps were smooth and error free.

Hi Gurus,

 

I have a requirement to create a  publication for a CEO report and burst the report to 10 Manager's.

To achieve this i have created  2 reports -

1) A source report having Manager as  prompt

2) A DYNAMIC  recipient report consisting of 2 columns:- Manager and  Manager EMAIL ID.

The recipient identifier is Manager

 

The publication works perfectly fine and EMAIL is sent out to Manager's with the source report as attachment  filtered for respective Managers.

 

Now i have a requirement to add hyperlink for the reports instead of the attachment.

 

I assume in publication, the placeholder  %VIEWERURL would not work.

Am i correct here?

 

If i want to hardcode the hyperlink using OPENDOC function, how do i pass the respective Manager as prompt in the OPENDOC URL?

ie, Manager XYZ should receive an EMAIL with the hyperlink allowing him to view data which he is entitled to view.

Hi,

 

I am selecting data using two time periods (cross tab) with Time_Period and Measures on the top and details on the side. I need a column in the current period that I do not want for the prior period. Webi inserts columns for both periods and they are connected. Deleting or hiding the prior period column does the same for the current year column.

 

How do I get around this? Thank you,

Hi,

 

I just noticed that the Ranking variable I make ranks, say Revenue, based on the totals across all the years in the data in the block. I need to rank/sort based on the current period Revenues, list the customers accordingly and pull in the historical data.

 

Using the right click Sort in the block menu also sorts on the totals not just the column activated when right clicking.

 

Anyone know how to build a variable that will rank the current data only (maybe convert time into a number and rank on the max. date_number).

I have a fairly common requirement. There is a weekly a report for which I need the week to be picked up dynamically. So everytime we launch the report we should see the current week data.

 

The Universe designer created an object called Current Week in this manner -> DATEADD(wk,DATEDIFF(wk,0,GETDATE()),5)

This is setup as a separate object and not associated to any class in the Universe.

 

When I use this though to filter data in the query panel, the performance of the report turns out to be very bad. If I just directly provide the date as a constant, the report runs in about 2-3 seconds. If I use this object it take 70-80 secs.

 

Is there an alternate way of achieving the requirement?

Hi,

 

I have created universe in SAP BO4.1, using IDT.

I have applied row level security for User Groups using Security Editor.

 

I have published the changes to repository.

But when I am trying to re open the security editor for that universe its throwing error:

 

"Unable to load security for universe ID ATF10O... (IDT 022123)."

 

I am not able to edit row level security, even this security restriction is not restricting data in WebI report.

Hi Friends,

 

Couple of months back i created webi report on sp(10 objects) that was working fine,now i have to add two new objects to exisitng report.

 

SP is displaying 12 objects and i try to add additional 2 objects in webi but i am getting below error,objects data types and no of objects are same in both sp and webi report .

 

Database error: [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver]Query timeout expired. Contact your Business Objects administrator or database supplier for more information. (Error: WIS 10901)

 

 

when i run the proceudure it is displaying data for 12 objects. Old procdure on webi(10 objects) wokring fine but when i  add 2 new objects i am getting above error

 

what could be the reason, could you any help me on this issues
