I am in BO 4.0 SP6 PL1 in both Quality and Production environments. While refreshing my existing webi report(based on a Bex query) in the quality environment, I find the #UNAVAILABLE error for Volume columns. This was not the case in the past. The same report run in Production runs perfectly without any error.

The only difference between Quality and Production is the service pack of the BW server. It is SP10 in Production and SP13 in Quality(upgraded recently from SP10 to sp13). We are planning to upgrade the Productioin server with SP13. It would be great if we could get the reason for this problem before that.

Hello Experts,

 

When refreshing a web i report with end user log on to BI Launch Pad, the error emerges just when we try refresh the report.

 

However the Administrator user open that report without issue in same machine, is that related to privileges? Even though it is a generic error, just trying to find out if any one faced the same issue.

 

BO version : BO 4.0 SP07

Hi ,

 

I am developing a WebI report. I get date value as 'AsOnDate' from table. Also position from table as 'Achievement'.

 

My requirement is to compare and show the business position on the two dates and to show the difference for a number of items. What I have done is added two input controls for 'From' and 'To' date. I have two blocks in the report with 'Achievement' in each. One input control affects one block and the other affects the other block. Till there it works fine.

 

But the problem is how to display the difference of business position,by subtracting the From Date 'Achievement' from To Date 'Achievement'.

I have the error "The data types of the operands for the operation "=" are not compatible or comparable.  SQLSTATE=42818. (IES 10901) (WIS 10901)"  when i generating the report with MORE THAN ONE OBJECTS. When i generate the report with ONLY ONE OBJECT i dont get any error message. plz find the SQL below

In UNIVERSE i have it as "DB2ADMIN.KA_COD.MASTER_VALUE". I would need to fix this in Universe level. i tried with changing the data type which is not works...

Please note that currently all objects i referring is CHARACTER type.

Hie Guys,

 

I was just wondering if the data in test server is always the same as the data in Prod server? Are there any differences between the two in terms of data/functionality when it comes to Web Intelligence? I've noticed that you cannot edit a query in Prod. Thanks.

I couldn't find VLOOKUP function in web intelligence business object reports. please let me know how to achieve the same requirement that would be really great help. Thanks in Advance.

 

I have two tables, i.e  table1 and table2 . both tables have only one column which contains data. I wanted to capture mismatch data which is there in the column of table1 and which is not there in the column of table2  (VLOOKUP). Please let me know the formula or logic that can be implemented to achieve this solution.

Hi all ,

i am working on formula of top 10 and bucket as shown following,

formula : 1) RankBC=Rank([Quantity];[Material];Top) ForEach([Material])

              2) Material=If(([RankBC]>10)ForEach ([Material]);"Other";[Material])

 

after using these formula i have make 1 bar chart and on its add link event i want show month wise data in other bar chart.

but its not working..

Hello all,

 

I am attempting to create a report where the data is manipulated using drop-down filters. However I want to be able to select two values (in this case e.g. [A and B]) in a dimension that will be shown on the table. Below is a visualisation:

 

DROP DOWN OPTIONS

 

1. Drop1  ( A and B)
2. Drop2  (B and C)
3. Drop3 (C and A)

 

TABLE

 

When Drop1 is selected

 

Name	FORECAST (FIRST LETTER)	FORECAST (SECOND LETTER)
VALUES	A	B
VALUES 2	A	B

 

When Drop2 is selected

*I'm working in BO 3*

I'm working on setting up my first hyperlinked webi documents. However, I've run in to two snags. My parent webi document has a set of 6 prompts that the users must select upon refreshing. So, when I create the hyperlink, I can easily enough select which variable to pass on to the child document (GL Account), however the prompts that were selected at the time of refreshing are not being inheritted to the child document. What do I need to do to pass these on?

 

The second issue (which may be related), is that one of the prompts of the parent webi document is a hierarchical prompt of our profit centers and the businesses they align to. How can I pass on a prompt to the child document that may be varying at which level of the hierarchy the user is at? Our hierarchy goes from Levels 1-5.

Hi,

My Webi is based on BEx reports. I have Fiscal Year/Period date range variable in BEX. When I run Webi, I would like to show the date range as part of Header of the report .

For example,

        Vendor Spend report for 01/01/2014 -03/01/2014

 

How can I achieve this. Please suggest

Hello,

 

I have a report with 1 section and 3 rows which displays values. I want to hide the rows when the values are blank and display the rows only with values. I am able to hide the text but the row still shows blank. I have tried to put the filter on the blank cell as not null but that doesn't work. I have also tried the hide the rows giving in the formula "Hide when formula is True" but still it doesnt have any effect on the section.

I have tried to hide it this way but doesnt work-

- table properties and uncheck the options

 

1. show rows with empty measures

 

2. show rows with empty columns

Any ideas to achieve this ...

I have 2 string dimensions and I am trying to create a new variable that If Dimension #1 is null then the value for Dimension #2 should show up otherwise if Dimension #1 value is not null then the value of that dimension should show up. I am trying to use this on a cross tab report.

 

=If(IsNull([Dimension #1]);[Dimension #2];[Dimension #1]) doesn't seem to work for some reason. I would appreciate other suggestions to do this.

Hi Experts,

 

I Have one dimension [Defects] it contains all defect codes and not assigned also, Not assigned means no defects.

 

My requirement is =only defects/total defects(Including no defects)

 

but in table i have to show only defects and based on above logic, so I am restricting [defects] <>"Not assigned" in variable

 

when i use this variable in report "Not assigned" showing as null if filtered out null with block level filter the logic is not working.

 

 

Could any one help on this.

Hi All,

 

I have a situation where i have created a webi report containing the rolling 12 months running sum of a measure object.

 

I am using cross table to display the values along with year, plan/actual, revenue, months

 

I am getting the below mentioned output.

 

and the properties of the table are shown in the below figure.

 

 

Now I want to hide the rows that are showing empty in the table. So I unchecked the "show rows where measure values =0" and even wrote a formula  to hide, then the output is as follows.

 

 

the properties for the above table output is as below.

Now if we observe, the values in the cross table are different. If i uncheck the values are changing and giving me wrong results.

The values in the first figure are correct but when i try to hide the empty rows it is giving me wrong results.

 

I tried to remove the Year dimension and checked the output, then it is giving me "#multivalue" error. I tried with putting Sum() function to rectify the error but of no use.

 

I tried to put block level filter for year object to the cross table, but values are coming wrong.

 

Any help highly appreciated.

HI All ,

we are at Bo 4.1 sp1 Batch 1

I am running report in web intelligence over SAP Bex query

the report has user parameters defined in BO (query panel)- all optional

when the user enters some of the parameters as(year/material) and so on- the report retrieves data

when the user do not enter any parameter e.g- run on all data - then the webi runs about 158 seconds , and retrieves no data at all

when i run the bex on rsrt - it runs very fast with no user prompts

is there a time limitation for data retrieval or some other definition in system?

any ideas?

Hello everyone,

 

I was wondering if I could get your guys help. I have been stuck on this issue for quite some time and not sure if I can find a solution out there. So I have a merged between two data sources. BW and MS-SQL. For that reason if I use a date I have to do a Dimension as a detail. So my 2 questions are

 

1) Is there a way to take a min of detail dimension

2) I have two dates but only want the lowest how should I go about this?

We are attempting to upgrade from R3 to R4.1.  On our 4.1 servers, WebI reports that have merged dimensions and use those dimensions in drop-down filters (or drill filters) are extremely slow to load.  Specifically, the drop-down filters themselves are slow to appear on the report, and the report content loads slowly while waiting on the filters to resolve.  Reports that load in the browser in seconds in R3 might take anywhere from 1 minute to 20 minutes in R4.  Has anyone else seen (or resolved) this behavior in R4?
