User management, authentication and SSO in Business Objects

Hi guys

I am trying to figure out the optimal architecture for our Business Objects server when it comes to user management, authentication and single sign on. I have checked the admin guide for 4.1 SP2 and found that there are various authentication methods available, but I cannot seem to find the optimal setup for the following scenario.

We have two potentially three data sources in our Business Objects. One is BW on HANA. The other is a separate HANA system and the third potential source could be a Microsoft BI system. Ideally we would like to make a mobile setup available allowing users to configure their connection only once and this seems to be tricky. We would like to reuse the authorisation model in BW and thus let the user logon using their SAP user. This seems to be possible, but how would one manage logging on to f.ex. development, quality and production systems from the same app? Would that require three different connections on a device with each its own user?

Ideally we would like the Business Objects system to work with user identities from Active Directory and be able to map those to the corresponding users in the different data sources, but is that possible at all? We would like to avoid having a separate authorisations setup in the Business Objects system which would need maintenance.

Best regards,

Anders
