Authorisation Variable working in BEx/RSRT but not Webi

Hi

A new authorization was put on 0PLANT. For this all queries (run using Webi) using 0PLANT had to have an authorization variable added. After a lot of attempts, we came up with the solution than an authorization variable must be put on 0PLANT in the "Default Values" as "Not Ready for Input" and on 0LANT in the "Filter" as "Ready for Input". After moving to production, the users complained that when running the reports, a list of all Ranges of 0PLANT that they have access to comes up on the selection screen.

We then removed the authorization variable from 0PLANT in the "Filter" and replaced it with a normal variable "Ready for Input". However, there is a daily and monthly sales report that has 2 queries on it. When we replaced this with the normal variable, if the users drill down on 0PLANT, they get a message "No Authorization". For these 2 reports we have had to leave the authorization variable on in the "Filter".

All the other reports, with a normal variable on 0PLANT in the "Filter" and an authorization variable on 0PLANT in the "Default Values" are working fine.

Can someone please tell me is there is a way to overcome this and just have a normal variable on 0PLANT in the "Filter" and if they drill down on 0PLANT, they do not get the "No Authorization" message.

Also, is there another transaction like RSECADMIN, where one can test the Webi template/report against a userid?
