Force child expansion for BEx

Scenario/environment:

1. Latest version of BOBJ/WebI and SAP BW

2. Creating WebI reports using BEx directly.

3. Security on data imposed by SAP.

Requirement:

1. When the user opens the report it only shows data they are allowed to see. (Done via security, no problems)

2. When the report renders it would be nice if the children of the node the user is allow to see was expanded automatically regardless of how deep in the hierarchy they are. See below.

Top level directors could see the following by default:

ALL Level -

     + Country Sales

     + Finance

     + Cost Centres

Executives might see only the following by default:

All Level -

     Country Sales -

          + USA

          + Canada

          + Mexico

          +UK

National level manager might see the following by default:

All Level -

     Country Sales -

          USA -

               States -

                    + California

                    + New York

                    + Texas

                    ...

State level Mangers might see the following by default:

All Level -

     Country Sales -

          USA -

               States -

                    California -

                              +  LA

                              + San Fran

                              + San Jose

                              ...

City level manager might see the following by default:

All Level -

     Country Sales -

          USA -

               States -

                    California -

                              LA -

                                  Store 1

                                   Store 2

                                   Store 3

                                   ...

Is there anyway in WebI with BEx to force this display to happen? I know we can force the hierarchy to open to a specific level (i.e. - L005) but this would present too much information by default for higher level people; we want to avoid this and only expand to the appropriate child level. If the user wants to drill deeper that's up to them. Nor do we want the lowest level people to have to drill from the top level down to their level.

Thanks,

Brian
