How can I design a WEBI prompts logic to take in "This Month", "This Year" and run the report accordingly for the Current Month and Current Year

Hello Gurus,

We have a requirement where in we are working with our portal team to link up WEBI reports from the Portal using OPENDOC functions.

The requirement is When the user selects values from the dropdown in the UI  as "THIS YEAR", THIS MONTH, "THIS WEEK", they want to view a report that understands the strings and run accordingly with the correct results.

The issue is the portal team wants BOBJ to handle the different prompt logic depending on the text.

Can anyone outline an idea on how can this be accomplished?

For example when the value THIS MONTH is selected on June 15th 2015, the report should run for Begin Date: June 1 2015 and End Date June 15, 2015.

When THIS YEAR value is selected on the UI, the webi should run for BEGIN DATE: 01-01-2015 and END Date: 06-15-2015.

Is there a way the OPENDOC sends the value THIS MONTH and THIS YEAR to BOBJ and can a universe or Report solution eb implemented to understand the TEXT and convert them into date values for the prompts?

Any insight into this will be greatly helpful.
