Issues with Query Stipping on Relational Universe in BOBJ 4.1

Our company is in the process of upgrading our BOBJ suite to 4.1 SP2 Patch 1 from 4.0.  One of the new features we were excited about was the ability to apply query striping to a relational source, which I began testing in our DEV environment.  However, we are receiving inconsistent results.

We have a series of WEBI documents, consisting of a single query of a .unx universe.  Each report has its own universe.  On one report, query stipping works perfectly.  On the others, it is not working.  Normally, when query stripping works, available objects that are not part of the report are listed in bold.  When you drag them onto the report, the have values of #REFRESH until you refresh.  However, for the reports that have problems, these available objects are pulled normally (not bolded or stripped) as if there were no query stipping applied.  Sometimes they don't show up at all.

I have gotten query stripping to work on a couple of reports with relational sources, so I know it works.  I know all of the boxes are checked (in the Universe, in the Query, and in the document properties).  I tore apart each WEBI and each Universe and cannot find any settings that are different.  I was curious if anyone else had a similar experience that they were able to solve or even just some ideas to try?  Thank you.
