Using 4.0 and before that 3.1.
Have found a long workaround on the subject, but there has to be a better way. What I would like is, to create a variable I can use in a table/graph to show:
Top 10-20 Sales
Top 20-30 Sales
Top 30-40 Sales
etc.
Anyone have a trick or am I missing something?

I am making a webi report on top of a BEx query by using BICS connection. My webi report shows me zeros instead of NULL/Blank.
I have CKFs in my bex query when i run bex query in bex analyzer i am able to see some nulls/blanks there, but when i am making a webi report these nulls/blanks are appearing as zeros in webi 
.
BOBJ= 4.1
BW= 7.3
Any Help ?

I need a help about a problem after I applied the SP9. When I try to open a webi document, this message appear and report doesn't open:
"An internal error occured while calling 'openDocument' API. (Error: ERR_WIS_30270) (Error: INF)"
This error occur with some documents, and these documents were working before SP9, on SP6.
I took the file wid on FileStore folder of BO installation directory. I tried to open this file with Webi Rich Client SP6, and this worked (so, the document file is not corrupted), but with Webi Rich Client SP9 occurred the same error.
I'm working with BO 4.0 on Windows 2008 Server. My webi documents use BEx queries of BW 7.3.

I recently came across this issue with Fiscal Year and Fiscal Year Variant. Here is the image from Bex Designer

I want to use Fiscal Year as a Webi prompt to show 2008, 2009, 2010. However, the values in the list are K1/2008, K1/2009 and K1/2010.
I could use Bex prompt for Fiscal year and pass it to webi, but I want to use webi prompt to avoid transport issue. The non-compounded Fiscal Year key is not available for use in webi prompt.
Any suggestions?

Our report users are used to enter their parameters on the prompt.
I have created a new report on WEBI XI 3.1. and this report has some prompts and also input controls.
That means, when the user wants to run the report they have to enter their parameters on the report prompt and then they have to navigate to the input control and select the values.
That makes them feel like they are entering parameters twice for a report.
Is there any way the initial value for an input control can be entered on a report prompt screen?
So, the user enters the values of the prompt and the initial values of the input controls together only once at the prompt screen?

We are BO 4.0 SP6.
We are creating WEBI reports which includes charts as well.
We have two columns " Current Period" and "Last Period" and using them in WEBI report and Line chart.
In the table I am displaying the column name " Current period " as "Oct-14" using some formula.
But I am not able to change the name in the chart.
Can we change the column name in the graph using some formulas? Please advice.

My report has a yellow triangle sign at the bottom right of the report for partial results. The database for the Universe was recently migrated to a new engine and server. Could this be the reason for the partial results in the report? Thanks.

We have a scenario where 5000+ webi reports based on 3 Universes currently pulling data from Oracle, we have plans to replace Oracle with SAP HANA. By this change and from our experience we are assuming that it should be good practice to re-create the Universes and we are OK with this, though what concerns is to repoint the 5000+ reports with this universes.
We checked and found there are few links available to create scripts for repointing the reports to new universes, but nothing is there for SAP BI 4.1
Request you to please suggest best possible approach/workaround which will help to achieve this without boosting our manual efforts.

I have deployed webi reports in SAP business objects. I have created another user in SAP BO CMC. But when while viewing that report in CMC, it shows me filter bar in disable mode. I want only enable that filter bar in browser. How can I do it? Thanks in advance.
Query: If the total cycle time is coming as negative for some values. We found this was due to the fact that not all Transactions require Senior Portfolio Manager Approval. If Bridge Lease or Short Term Lease is checked on Transaction general tab, then Sr PM Approval is not required. Therefore the total approval cycle time would be from First Approval Initiated Date through Final Approval (latest approval date).

I am working on a report in BO XI 3.1 , I am trying to hide the section when it does not have the values in the block , i am attaching the screen shot of it . This should not show Denied and None , as there are no values with its respectable Block,
I have also activated the option of the left as i put in Bold Yellow ,

We have migrated from BO XI3.1 to BO BI 4.1 and now we have some issues after changing the data source of a Web Intelligence document.
When we swapping the Universe, the “new” web intelligence document lose many variables previously defined and also many dimensions defined in report table are removed from the same table.
This happens even if the object’s check is done successfully.
Do you know a workaround or if these behaviour is fixed in SP2-3 ?

Hi,
I linked a universe with another but after linking the two i am unable to see the components of linked universe in report. Also when i am trying to generate a new report in WEBI using linked universe I am getting error "No business layer sent back from server".
Please suggest me what needs to be done to resolve this issue if any one has come across this kind of issue.

We have the scenario described in the following SAP Note:
SAP Note#1798197 - Schedules fails with error "Database error: Unable to connect to SAP BW server Incomplete logon data.. (IES 10901)" in BI 4.0
Our systems are BO v4.0 and BW v7.0.
The errors are:
BO:
Document Type: Web Intelligence
Status: Failed
Error Message: Database Error: Unable to connect to SAP BW server Incomplete logon data.. (IES 10901)
BW:
CALL_FUNCTION_SIGNON_INCOMPL
Error analysis: The logon data for the user " " is incomplete.
The SAP Note#1798197 states the workarounds are SNC or STS, but we have been unable to get that to work. We have worked with SAP Support but they have also been anable to get that to work.
This seems to only happen during a high volume Bo scheduling situation.
Has anyone experienced this? If so, have you solved it with SNC or STS or another workaround? If so, how did you do it?

Wanted to check with you guys if the variables were converted correctly or not. Data is not available as such to see if the variable is working correctly or not. Below are the formula's used for creating the variables

My question is whether the formula got converted in webi correctly or do i need to modify them.
Ex: Var1 = If <Dependent Benef>>" " Then 0 Else <Dependent Count>-1 In Deski

This was leading to "-1" being shown on cell where i was using this variable. So i converted the formula to
Var1= If( [Dependent Benef]>" " ; 0 ; " [Dependent Count]-1") As "THEN" and "ELSE" are replaced in webi With ";" Also " [Dependent Count]-1") is now in double quotes. So now the "-1" is not showing in cell anymore where i am using this variable.
Do i need to do anything similar or something different for the above 3 variables... Please help
