We are running BOE 4.2 SP2. I have developed a report on 0EMPLOYEE, one of its ttribute is 0HRPOSITION, job, org unit etc.
When I use 0HRPOSITION Text into Webi, it only displays Short text and ignore medium or long. Is there a way to fix them.
Current setting of 0EMPLOYEE
Tab-Business Explorer
Text type: Medium length text
Bex desciption: Long
Tab-Master Data/Text has
Medium tex box checked.

Hi All,
I have refreshed some report. Some column should contain numeric values and string values. Unfortunately I see only numeric values. Instead strings I see quadrat icon or empty field. Probably it is related for some coding page I do not know...Did you have similar problems?

and I'm trying to calculate the difference between the 2 actual times in webi,

I'm using RCT 4.0 to convert Deski 3.1 reports to Webi 4.0, but when I connected to RCT, its not showing the reports in source, its showing only reports folder.

Hi everyone,
I wish to add a 'Reset' button to my BOE XI 3.1 Webi document that resets the input control that I have on a table. At the moment I have to open the left panel, go to input controls and click the 'Clear filters' button.
Is this possible to do maybe using extension points or some other method?

SYSTEM TYPE : 64 BIT
HARD DISK : 394 GB AVAILABLE
Just wanna know is it fine to install BO 4.0 also on this machine along with Xi 3.1 sp3

Hi, I have a Performance Management rating system and I want to visually represent the ratings of people by putting them in a 5X5 matrix/table and each person in a box. We have a scale of 1-5 on Results and 1-5 on Behaviors, so employees with a 5,5 would be in the upper right hand box. What equation would I write that would put all the people in the upper right hand box? I have a crosstab and I will put a formula for each result/behavior score in each quadrant. Is that also right? I am pretty new to programming but can do some basic stuff. Thanks in advance, David

I'm getting this error when trying to créate a query with Web Intelligence on a Universe created with IDT from an Excel file with ODBC driver and published to the repository which is a Win Server 2012. I made both system DSN Excel driver 32 bits opened from SySWOW64, in the local machine that created the universe and on the server where is published.
When I run the query the error says: Database error: (Microsoft) (ODBC Excel driver) (general error) Insufficient information to connect with this DSN throw SQLConnect. Use SQLDriverConnect.
What this means? How do I use SQLDriverConnect to make this work?

I am trying to familiarize myself with passing URL parameters into Webi reports. I am using a very simple case to figure out correct syntax.
I am in BOBJ 4.1, with BW 7.4.
I have Bex variable XXXXXX_V04 that I would like to use to set field XXXX_F58 equal to "XXXX010". Using SAP's URL parameter documentation, I constructed an OpenDocument link with the following parameter syntax/order:
(opendocument link with CUID included)&lsSXXXXXX_V04=[XXXX_F58].[XXXX010]
When I select the link, I am taken to the report; while refreshing, it errors with "System (BWD): incorrect value for data source. Error: INF"
After this error, I tried looking at MDX query syntax. However, all tech names look very different than from Bex. Fields have a "T00001". table prefix, and their tech names differ from those in the InfoProvider (it is an Infoset, and the "F_"-prefixed field names do not exist here - it is using the field names that would appear in underlying DSOs). The variable name (XXXXXX_V04) that I'm referencing in my URL parameter does not appear anywhere here.
I tried substituting names from the MDX query into the parameter, but this did not solve the issue.
Does anyone have thoughts on where my syntax is incorrect? Should I be using the field names from MDX or from BeX Query Designer?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I'm using BOXI 3.1 WebI and have a need to show multiple values of a column in a comma delimited list. I tried using a horizontal table but if the list goes over the right margin it creates a new page instead of wrapping to the next line like we want. I can do what I want in Oracle sql using the WM_CONCAT aggregate function but haven't found a way to do it in WebI reports. Has anyone figured out a way to do this?

Hi Experts,
I am facingthe error, when we use the Measures which are coming out of Bex query as source in WEBI. #UNAVAILABLE occurs when we are using smart measures and Web Intelligence cannot calculate the value based on the contexts used. Do not use smart measures while applying filter on a aggregated value from your query and further aggregate it within the report. At the same time, it will throw the error(#UNAVAILABLE), when we use it in the formula too.
We are not ready to install any service pack since its freeze period. So please let us know Is there any solution to resolve this defect ?

What is the use of getting prompts in web service? when i tried to change the prompt value and run the report shows the same value as that of original report and data is not changed.
I created WEBI report using bex query as source and saved.
Published webi table using web service and this created a web service query.
I accessed web service query in webi and i can see my report data which is matching with original table data.
But i tried to change the prompt value in web service query and executed the report but no change in result. Please let me know the way to change the prompt value in web service.

I'm using BO 4.1 and a couple of strange thing are happening with me...
I've created a report using WebI. I've added a couple of Report Filters... If I select one member of a report filter that has a special character it will not select that member but will select all...
For instance, if I have a filter called Managers, with the following members:
Maria
Luis
Cláudia
Fernando
If I select Maria, Luis or Fernando everything is ok, but if I select the third one - Cláudia - it will select all members (look the special character on the member name).
This is very strange because on the list I can see it, but I cannot select it...
Next strange thing... if I use the same report and the same filter on Design mode, it will work just fine. And if I user Web Intelligence Rich Client, in read and design mode will work just fine.
Any ideas?

Team - I am able to run all the reports without any issue. When my user is running the report against "BOEXI40-Audit-MySQL.unx"... getting this error. Any suggestions from coming out from this issue.

Currently I have a problem that i have not found the solution till now. Please help me.
I create a query with the dimensions:(material ID, title, provider, process state description, display runtime)
Query filter: i just get those material IDs which their process state descriptions are "completed". for instance, the following is the data i got:
Material ID | Title | Provider | process state description | Display runtime (minute) | Flag to classify |
M001 | A | ABC | completed | 2 | |
M002 | B | HFN | completed | 8 | |
M003 | A | HVN | completed | 5 | |
M004 | C | ABC | completed | 11 |
Those titles that i got will be classified into 2 groups: "clip" or "others". Clip and others are exclusive.
For clips: titles which their display runtime are less than or equal to 10 (minutes) and their providers are not in list ("ABC";"DEF";"GHF")
For others: after removing all titles which belongs to "Clip", we have titles which belongs to "others".
For a title: it is considered for clips firsly. If it is not a clip, then it is considered if it is a others. (priority)
I create a flag like above (flag to classify variable) to classify each title.
as data returned from the above, firstly title A is classified into "others" because its display runtime <= 10 but its provider is "ABC". Secondly, (the 3rd record) title A is also classified into "Clips". It makes no sense.
A should belongs to Clips only.
For title A, in the first record, i want Flag variable is Blank; in the 3rd record, flag variable is "Clips"
How can i achieve this? Please help me!
