After generating my Webi Report I want do data validation test as part of my UNIT testing
1) If the report built on top of any RDBMS Databases like SQL or Oracle we can go back to tools like TODE and we can run our report sql against Database to cross-check the data
2) Here my question is what if the report built on top SAP BW in which way we can do data validation testing?

In Drill filter under 'Others' Option. The columns are repeating more than Once.

There is a column "Branch Code" it has been used in 5 data providers. It is coming under Others. Instead of the appropriate data providers.
It is also displaying all the variables declared in report. Is there a way to hide it.

Hi,
I am using Universe Designer 4.0, db is SQL Server 2012. I want to change the universe and webi reports from one server into another server. I used save as, and exported to another server.
Old reports are not refreshing at Web Intelligence Rich Client, and in BI Launchpad the report is not refreshing. I got ODBC error.
Can anyone help me to get out of this?

Hello,
I would like to know and confirm the ways a user can access the Webi report or Xelcius dashboards.
Below are the ones from my understanding and please help me if I have missed any:
1) Using the BI Launchpad
2) Using publication for Webi or Crystal (Here they get a refreshed copy and dont sign into the server unless trying to refresh again)
3) Reports can be accessed over mobile.
4) Reports can be embedded to the intranet using opendocument.
5) Reports can be embedded in SAP Enterprise Portal, I believe using opendocument. This is possible for Webi and Dashboards.

Hi Everyone,
I Need to extract the value of an Input Parameter on the Report.
I could find that the the only function, that Returns the Input Parameter value is the ReportFilterSummary()
The Problem with this Function is that it Returns a Long text along with it, which cannot be cut short dynamically with available char based functions.
Is there any other wayy to exactly extract the value of the Input Parameter like UserResponse() does for prompts ?

we have a very curious issue with the background color after the conversion (with RCT) from BusinessObjects XI 3.1 DeskI to SAP BO WebI (4.1 SP5).
In Rich-Client, PDF, Excel everything looks fine, but in the BI-Launchpad (HTML-View, not JAVA) the background color of our reports is very often for example orange or green (see background.PNG).
We have no idea where that came from. If you add a new report sheet or create a new report everything is fine. In addition, theerror does not occurin every report (but in 80-90 percent). Also there is no error in the RCT log, which points to this issue. The background color of the reports is "no color", but even if you choose white, it stays orange.
Our customer use: Internet Explorer 9 Version: 9.0.8112.16421 Update: 9.0.32, so maybe it´s because of the old browser? But on the other hand it works fine with new reports.
Does someone know the issue or have an idea what to do?

We are getting below error while refreshing the data using Live Office plug-in on PPT.
“An error occurred while receiving the HTTP response to http://........ This could be due to the service endpoint binding not using the HTTP protocol. This could also be due to an HTTP request context being aborted by the server.”
This error comes in exact 5 minutes.
The server name used for web service is from a clustered environment. When the individual node is used Live office refresh works fine but while using the generic name refresh fails.
Please provide your inputs.

We have develop some webi reports using BICS connection on Bex Query in BO4.0. I have some doubts regarding webi reports.
1. We have BI launch Pad to access webi reports. Like user access BEX report through portal, Similarly can user access webi report through portal Or there is other platform to access webi reports.
2. I want to schedule webi reports to users mail ID. Its show schedule status failed. How can I successfully schedule webi reports.
3. When webi reports is scheduled it sends webi reports as It was saved. example if webi reports was save for parameter value : year=2010. it will always send
webi report with 2010 data.If user wants data for year =2011 .then how it will possible? should user manually open webe reports and refresh data for 2011 and save the webi reports.

Is it possible to create a cross-tab report with non-numeric values at the cross-tab intersection? I currently do this with an old version of Business Objects. I need to know whether or not I will lose this functionality if I move to the current version of the Web Intelligence product. I have attached a screenshot of the kind of report I need to produce. Any insight/shared experience would be appreciated!

I am unable to open WebI after installing Crystal Reports 2011 in my PC.
Version using Webi is 4.X and Crystal Reports is 2011.
It is showing "An error has occured". but am able to open thin client BI Launch Pad.

I'm having a long running report which when scheduled in PDF format , chart does not have any data
Same report when run in webi gives proper data
Concerning this there are 2 parameters
Visualization Engine Cleanup Timeout and
Visualization Engine Swap timeout are being set to get data in charts per client's request
but still on checking the chart, there is no data

We track equipment downtime and use the information to analyze delays on critical equipment. For example, if a delay starts on February 21 and ends on March 8, I am trying to determine how compute the time that should belong in February and the time that should belong in March. Currently I can only get all or nothing.

I am trying to produce a list of currently used Web Intelligence documents with their last execution date. I have tried to use the Auditing universe, however it does not provide me with an actual status (e.g. I see reports which have been deleted/renamed/moved). What would be the best way to do this ? I read on some websites that the only solution was to use the Information Steward, but I find it strange that one cannot do such a report with the audit universe.

We have converted XI R2 Deski Reports to 4.1 SP 5 Webi Reports.
There is an issue is in the below formula:
Formula in Deski:
=Truncate(Min(ToNumber(<Code Lvl1>)) ,0) In CurrentPage
After converting to Webi formula:
=RepFormula("=Truncate(Min(ToNumber(<Code Lvl1>)) ,0) In CurrentPage ")
We need to get the code corresponding to the data in the current page.

I created the publications for webi report and I wanted to sent excel file per email. Publication run without error, but in excel are data missing - only one table with 210 rows. Other 10 tables are in excel sheet.
Could you please help me, where could be the problem? If I run report in launchpad, I retrieve the data and also after export to Excel file are data available. Only after publication run is one table with 210 rows missing.

Hi everyone,
We have a growing number of Publication (based on Webi documents) that are scheduled and I want to report on Errors& Warnings.
When a Job Fails, I can use our Auditing universe and get visibility of the failure reason. When a Job is Successful but there are warning within the Log File - I don't know how to access this information bar manually having to check each Log file which is not feasible.
i.e. This snapshot of the History of a publication looks like all three publications were successful:
The actual jobs ran HOWEVER the one @ 10:00 shows a Warning when you dig into the Log file:
- There are no schedulable documents in the publication. (FBE60503)

Notifications are of no use to me here, they flag a Successful job even though a warning exits and no documents were sent.
Do you know if you can access these Publication Admin Log xxxxxxxx files and generate reports on them?

I received a publication notification this morning saying the publication was successful yet none of the users received the report!
On investigation when you open up the View Log File I see this:

Help documentation suggests there was something wrong with the publication - I manually kick off the publication and it works.
This leads me to believe that the notifications aren't worth a lot at all - is there an alternative?
