Hi everyone,
In a few weeks we are updating BW to 7.4 SP5 and I need to know if this will impact in some way our BO reports.
Our current Business Objects version is 4.1 SP2.
Is there any action required on BO side to take before facing BW upgrade?

Hello,
I have a universe built on top of a Sybase ASE database. The universe contains a Number object which maps to a Sybase Numeric data type with a data type length of 9 and precision of 19.
When we pull the data form this object onto a webi report the values are being rounded up for example 75000000041611650 instead of 75000000041611700.
Has anyone encountered this problem before and what was the solution? We are on SAP BI 4.1 SP5

I have a list of sequential 'Activities' in a table, a 'start time' and 'endtime' describes when these happened.
I wish to have a summarised table that will GROUP each activitity type. For example, in the picture below, all the entries for 'Production' and 'Delay' will be grouped as per the right hand table.
Any advise would be appreciated!

In the preferences I have changed from APPlet to HTML.So I have 1000 users but preferences not reflecting in all 1000 users.
Please help me want change from applet to HTML in all.
When I am opening report in applet mode its taking more time to open.but in HTML mode its taking less time to open.So that want to change from Applet to HTML mode.

I have to report four specific time periods dynamically so I made Date variables. I cannot use division of the metrics without applying the date codes to the individual metrics. There has to be a way I am not thinking of. This is a massive report so I need to keep variables to a minimum.
Example:
[Sales 1] / [Quota 1] = Percent to Quota
I have a Date Variable for Quarter to Date: [Months in QTD] That returns multiple "Fiscal Periods" (months) per date formulas
However, to get the right time period data using DIVISION, say for Quarter To Date I have to use:
[Sales 1] Where( [Fiscal Period] = [Months In QTD]) / [Quota 1] Where( [Fiscal Period] = [Months In QTD])
The above returns the correct value for the three months in the quarter.
That would be OK except I need an IF..Then..ElseIf..Else statement to solve for zeros and nulls and it gets very long adding the “Where( [Fiscal Period] = [Months In QTD])” to every measure in the statement.
I have tried nesting: =(SUM( [Sales 1] ) / Sum( [Quota 1) ) Where( [Fiscal Period] = [Months In QTD])
And that does not work as with other attempts to nest.
I tried an IF( [Fiscal Period] = [Months In QTD] … but it returns MULTI error I assume becaause the variable [Months in QTD] delivers more that one Fiscal Period.
Come on brainac’s. Division has its own rules but there should be a way.

I need to display current fiscal period based on below derivation from the last execution date of the report compared with below:
The client calendar is 4 3 5 fiscal week based..
Step which needs your help
1) Start Date of every fiscal year, say according to the system date it falls in thursday below is the snapshot.
so based on the mentioned calendar 435 fiscal week base, my first number
4 fiscal weeks- > Start 1st Month of any fiscal year here 1st 2015 and my end date week by referring above is 24.
3 fiscal weeks -> for second Month starts on 25th Jan and ends by 14th feb 2015
5 fiscal weeks -> fiscal week starts 15th Feb 2015 and ends by 21st mar 2015
...for remaining 435 base we are have to derive based on webi formula for below ones:
fiscal week of every year like 435 base in every quarter
start date/day of fiscal week in that year
end date/day of fiscal week in that year.
Can we able to achieve this arrive the start and end date of every month based out of fiscal week
base 435 and compare the report last execution date with our derived start and end date dates to get the current fiscal periods.

Dear All,
I am facing a strange issue in my report,i have created a cross tab report with vendor,month,qunatity i have applied rank(Top5) on this table this working fine.
I need to show quantity share% also in the report so to achieve this i have created two variable in webi:
Total Qty for share:
=Sum([Quantity] For All([Vendor Name])
%Qty share:
=[Quantity]*100/[Total Qty for share]
I have used %qty share in the table,now the table contains vendorname,month,%Qty share,i have applied rank(For Top5) in this table but after apply rank the values in the table is not showing properly .
For example before ranking i have 6 for the month of jan but after applying ranking it is becoming 14 in the table.
Why it is happening is there any problem in the variables.
I have tried rank in the both the ways ,the option in webi and the formula by using Rank function:
Rank([quantity[;Vendorname]) both is giving the wrong values.
Please suggest me it is very urgent where i need to deliver the report.

In WebI,I use this measure to get many hyperlinks in a cell. When I click on each hyperlink, it do not jump to the linked website. Is there anything that I missed?

I have created BO report on top of BICS Query in BO 4.0(have used aroung 15 BICS queries in to the report) and able to see the correct data.
I have used hierarchies and also selected levels in to webI report. Last week I am able to refresh the report but since two days I am getting some strange errors.
Errors:
1) Unable to run the empty Query.
2) When trying to invoke the method com.sap.ip.bi.bics.dataacess.consumer.queryview.results.et.IRsAxisTupleelement.Getcharateristicmember() of an object loaded from Local Variable 'element'(WIS00000)
Can you please help me on this isse.

I have a Webi report in BI4 platform in which i have drill filters. These drill filters are based on variables that point to the required dimension.
I have a requirement to translate these drill filters in multiple languages. When i translate the variables in translation manager, i get the following error :
When i remove the translation, the report works fine.
Can you suggest a way i can perform translation of these variables (the drill filters) without causing this error?

I need to merge the information's that come from two queries:
Query 1:
Agent, Dimension 1, Dimension 2 , Dimension 3 , Sales Value
Query 2 (doesn't have the Agent):
Dimension 1 , Dimension 2 , Dimension 3, Plan Value
The goal is to obtain this :
Agent , Sales Value , Plan Value
The problem is that if the common dimensions aren't used in the final table, the Plan Value is wrong.
Dimension 1 , Dimension 2 and Dimension 3 are currently merged.

Hi All,
Hope you all doing very well. I am looking for a webi functionality as illustrated below example.
We have lets say four states for which we need to view sales data in descending order. At first all four states will be listed below as showm in figure 1 (just like headings)
but when the user clicks on first heading (California in this case), it should expand and show California data and rest of all minimized as shown in below image.

When the user clicks on Texas heading rest of all should minimize and Texas should expand (as shown in below image).
We are using webi 4.1 (launch pad) and would like to know if there is any way to implement such functionality.

I have one issue for one report i am able to see 2 records (duplicate records) at database level and at Report query level.
But When i run the report in the table i am able to see only one record.
I have checked the option retrieve duplicate rows option at query panel
I am not allowed to use Avoid Duplicate row aggregation option.
Could you please help me out how to resolved this issue.

Hi,
we upgrade our client tools from 4.0 SP6 FP11 to 4.1 SP3 version.
After installation everythings works fine but in one computer machines I got error: Database error: (CS) " Error on Connect". (IES10901) (WIS10901)
I use SQL Server odbc driver to connect to database (SQL Server 2008).
I replaced even SQLSRV32.dll but without sucess

Is it possible to link from one tab of the report to another tab.
This is similar what we used to do by linking one report to another report based on value of a dimension.
So can we achieve this in a particular webi report is to move from a graph or a table in a a tab to another tab of the same report.
