Scheduling WebI Report with URL

Hi Experts,

            We are trying to come up with a solution where WebI Report scheduling needs to happen through hyperlink (like an opendoc usage) from an external portal running on IBM WebSphere. WebI Reports need to be scheduled based on any given recurrence (like daily or weekly or hourly etc), in excel format and should be sent across to certain email IDs. I was going through certain documentations related to RESTful APIs, but not sure whether going by that approach will suffice this requirement. Can anyone throw any light on this?

Please note that we are in BI4.0 SP10.
