Greetings, Experts!
First off, I am using the following platforms:
-SAP BW 7.5
-SAP BO 4.0 SP5
I am developing WebI reports directly on top of BEx queries, using the much appraised BICS connection.
As a requirement from the client, no IDT development should take place. Which is fine, until we start talking about scheduling:
Also as requirement, we need to schedule the WebI reports daily, based on prompts from the BEx queries. I have found zero literature directly on the matter, except for the following reference:
"Current Options Using Standard Functionality
Until BusinessObjects 4.0 is released, it is not possible to use BEx variables (which will be made available by
the BICS connector) or the last load date variable", on page 3 of
I am currently using the BEx variables, as the reference states, but the behavior is not what we require:
-When scheduling, the default values for the BEx variables are correct (the current day, for example).
-But, on subsequent runs, the scheduled report retains the initial prompt. Meaning I get n daily reports all for the same date.
I am working with a BW team, but the connection between the two platforms is new for all of us.
What am I missing? Is there something else to do on the BW side? Is this functionality really implemented on BO4 or do we still need to implement the "magic dates" workaround like we did on the previous version?
Thank you for your attention!
Best regards,
Francisco
