Trigger an event based on data retrieved in webi report?

Is there any way to trigger an event (send an email, run a report, etc. -- event in the generic sense, not BOBJ events) based on the data returned in a scheduled webi report.

I'm interested if anything exists in a generic sense, but a specific example would be:

If Sales are greater than 5,000 then send email to Sales@salesteam.com

          - or -

If salesalert (a webi variable) is TRUE schedule webi report "abc"
