webi report filters changing dynamically.

Dear all,

 

we are facing strange issue  in Bi launchpad, we had a webi report with four Report Filters ,

 

when we scheduled it.the latest scheduled instance used to fetch some times two report filters and other times all the  four report filters.

 

it is uncertain why it is fetching dynamically these filters.

 

there is no stability in displaying the filters.

 

please guide us in identifying the issue and troubleshoot.

 

Product configuration is follows:


SAP Business Objects BI Platform 4.1 Support Pack 4 Patch 5

Version: 14.1.4.1509

Web Intelligence Report returning incorrect results to the Dimensions.

Hello All,

 

 

I have created an OLAP Universe on top of the BEx query and no issues with the Universe. However when I build the webi query on top of the universe, it's returning incorrect data.

For Example:

  • Plant
  • GL Account
  • Cal Year/MM
  • Total Stock Value

For a given palnt and GL Account and Total Stock Value BEx query returning the Correct data when run it via BEx analyzer.


However when I try to reproduce the same query it's returning the incorrect results(Cal Year/MM aggregation if i am not adding into report output)

 

Note: If Cal Year/MM object is not added into query result set data is coming correctly.If Cal Year/MM is taken into Query Result pane and not added into report output  values are aggregating based on Cal Year/Mm. This problem is happening for so many objects.

 

I would greatly appreciate any help.

Grouping dynamically

Is there a way to set a trigger to send an failure email notification when a report fails after subsequent/interval retry for scheduled Webi Reports?

Problem with a report for comparing row by row

Hi Experts,

 

I hope that you can help me to solve my problem.

 

Relating to the topic Compare row by row, I have created a report by using the solution given. Thanks to my application (management of grants: a grant contains general information and is linked to contacts, legal references and portfolios), when an update is done, a new row is entered in the History table for the specific objects.  My purpose was to compare row by row information in order to show the updates.

 

I have used this solution in the topic previous for comparing the row on the Contacts:

  • Create a variable:

     Contacts_Ranking_values =Sum(Rank([contact person]))In([Id Hist])

  • Create another variable

     updated_contacts =If [Contacts_Ranking_values] <> Previous([Contacts_Ranking_values]) Then "UPDATED" Else "NO UPDATE"

  • Create another variable

     Contacts_Final_Output = Max([updated_contacts])In([Id Hist])

  • Drag Contacts_Final_output to the table

 

Thus the desired output is ok. Nevertheless in order to filter for displaying only the "UPDATED" rows I had to create another dimension

dim_updated Contacts = if [Contacts_Final_Output] = "UPDATED" then "UPDATED" else "NO UPDATE".

 

I obtain this report:

It's perfect. I have created a new report in the same document in order to do the same for legal reference:

And it's perfect working.

I have equally do the same for portfolio. But I have adapted the variables, because a portfolio can have a value:

  • Portfolios_Ranking_values = Sum(Rank([Value Portfolio HIST]))In([Id HIST])
  • Portfolios_Ranking_Id = Sum(Rank([Id Portfolio Hist]))In([Id Hist])
  • updated_portfolios = NoFilter(If ( ([Portfolio_Ranking_values] <> Previous([Portfolio_Ranking_values])) Or ([Portfolio_Ranking_Id] <> Previous([Portfolio_Ranking_Id])) )Then "UPDATED" Else "NO UPDATE")
  • Portfolios_Final_Output = Max([updated_portfolios])In([Id Hist])
  • dim_updated Portfolio = if [Portfolios_Final_Output] = "UPDATED" then "UPDATED" else "NO UPDATE".

 

I obtain this report and it's perfect, because if the value of a portfolio has changed, or if a portfolio is added or deleted, "UPDATED" is visible:

MY PROBLEM

 

I would like now to create an overview report in the same document, in order to have a summary of the detailed reports (contact, legal reference and portfolio) like:

We can see that for contact and legal reference all is perfect, BUT for Portfolio, the value for dim_updated Portfolio is not correct when only the value of a portfolio has been updated.

Indeed if we see the id Hist 10 229 and 10 230,  "UPDATED" should be visible (the portfolios are the same, but the values have changed...). For the last row 10231,  a portfolio has been deleted and the other has a different value, but UPDATED is visible...

 

I think that the problem is due to the value (problem in "updated portfolios" variable ???).

 

I have tried to split the formula for having 2 separated treatment (updated_portfolios_id, updated_portfolios_value and Portfolios_Id_Final_Output, Portfolios_Values_Final_Output ), but the display for the value is still incorrect when the value of a portfolio change:

Thus the problem comes from the dimension variable "dim_updated Portfolio_Values".

 

Could you please help me to solve this problem?

Db2 ODBC showing columns with special character in single quotes in UDT

Hi,

Need Urgent help !

 

If we use the ODBC drivers for DB2 iseries as connection in Universe designer we have a situation where it shows single quotes against some columns that have special characters. How do we remove or convert them into a readable column without it throwing a INVALID TOKEN error (PFA screen shot of the error as well).

 

Environment Details: BO 4.1 SP 5

Tool: UDT

Database source: ODBC DB2 iseries 5 (connection 32 bit)

When we go with the default PRM settings the above issue persists. Do anyone have any ideas on specific paramters to set for this to resolve.

 

FYI, we already tried the below parameter and it doesnt resolve the wingle quotes.

  <Parameter Name="IDENTIFIER_DELIMITER">"</Parameter>

  <Parameter Name="DELIMIT_LOWERCASE">YES</Parameter>

42502 Error While parsing the object in the UNIVERSE

Hello All,

 

I am getting this ghost 42502 Error While parsing the object in the UNIVERSE.

 

Same Connection is perfectly fine in another Slice.

 

In SAP BO 4.1 SP6 Connection is responding properly if I parse any object Its displays 42502 Error.Hence we are not able to develop the reports in Webi.

Possible to Collect Object Usage in Universe?

Hello,

 

Is there any way to see the usage of individual objects within a document? When I say the word objects, I am referring to the fields that you drag over to the results or filter windows. The objects become available for a report then after you complete the query. I want to look at these objects and find out how many documents are using which objects in a universe.

 

Reading previous threads, it seems it is not possible, but is it just impossible with the current audit universe or is it not possible to record object level detail from the servers? Is there any way to collect this information? Are there settings that you can update to record which objects are being used? Are there any alternative universes that allow you to query this information? Are there any alternative applications that I could use? Does it make sense to approach my database administrator and see if he has a way to observe how many times a particular column has been queried?

 

Any advice on how to collect this information would be really helpful.


SAP BI 4.1 WEBI report problem with prompts after migration

Hi guys,

 

We are facing the problem with prompts in WEBI reports after migration from BO 3.1.
After refresh there is(are) extra prompt/s called "enter value for project".
That´s unexpected and "unwanted" thing. Do someone know what could be that, how to remove it??

Hello All

 

When I am trying to open WebI report I am getting below message

 

Unexpected error. If you cannot reconnect to the server, close  Web Intelligence and start again. (WIJ 20002)

 

 

 

But this error message is coming only for thouse reports which taking too much time like 2 or more than 2 minutes to fetching records .

Other reports are working fine which taking less time to fetching data.

 

Note : I had already updated my JAVA version and I am using SAP BO 3.1 .

Sending a report via email in excel,pdf extensions

Good morning,

 

I'm getting some problem. I just configured my BO 4.1 to be able to send a report via email using Adaptavie Job Server,

But whenever I send a report it is send in a .wid format and that does not work for me or my users specially (it would be bettter in excel or pdf). I can see no visible option to change the format of the report being sent.

 

Do you know how to configure it?

How to use ToDate() to concatenate month and year cells

Hi,

 

I have a universe giving me the year and month in the 'Number' format. I've attached a snapshot of the data below:

The measure values in the report are aggregated based on these dimensions. I want to concatenate these fields to produce something like:

Jan-15 and so on. I have tried using the ToDate and format function to accomplish this, but I end up getting a #ERROR everytime. Here is the expression:

 

=ToDate("" + [Year] + "-" + [Month] + "-01"; "yyyy-MM-dd")

 

Any suggestions on how to accomplish this?

IN WEBI data is duplicated in report after migrating from BO 3.1 to 4.1

HI ,

 

This is regarding Data is duplicated in report after migrating from BO 3.1  to BO 4.1 in 3.1 i am getting  43 rows but after migrating 2383 records .please could any one tell what is the issue .what is procedure to follow .it would be  very helpful.

Apparently the process for submitting an incident (formerly known as message), went through some changes. I was going to submit an incident for Web Intelligence, but I am unable to find any of my systems, which is the first step in submitting an incident. Is there something I need to do to get my systems back? When I search, using an *, I get no results. I used to have several pages of systems to choose from.

SAP BO server Recovery

Hi all,

 

Last week , we have shut-down  SAP BO server for maintenance . when we start it , it's mother board  became out of order. we have replace same mother board , but OS corrupted.

 

OS was on local server HDD and BO installation was on SAN. SO we have BO data ( windows backup ) which was on SAN. Please guide how we can restore our BO server.

 

OS: Windows 2008 server R2

C:\ :- OS ( Local server hardisks)

E:\ :- SAP BO ( SAN )

BO: BO 4.0 with DB oracle

Average Calculation in WEBI

Hi All,

 

I am new to SAP WEBI & IDT. I need to fix a formula in which Average calculation is wrong when one of the value is empty.

Eg If I have data for 4 days but one of them is empty then Avg = (A+B+empty+D)/4

this is how it is working, but some how the calculated avg is incorrect.

I am trying to use the built in function Average but still not able to make it work. I tried using property  " ;IncludeEmpty" too.

Any lead on this will help..

Wrong data on long text dimension

Hi masters,

I'm using auditing univers.unx and some reports to get bo analysis. I have a problem when I try to filter values from event detail dimension which is defined as a longtext.

 

I can see the values correctly on the webi table:

But when I want to filter by Event Detail Value, I can not see on list of values the values propertly seen on the table. I got a little square at the end of each value and I'm not able to filter for any value.

On data federeator this field on table is defined as longvarchar. Do you now any problem to show full content of longvarchar on a dimension?

 

Have you seen this little square before on values?
