I have one doubt that can we use @Functions in THEN part of CASE statement in Universe Designer.
For Ex: I am writing below code in select part of dimensional object
CASE 'A'
WHEN 'A'
THEN
@select(Folder_Name1/Object_Name1)

END CASE
Will @select function work when report get executed.

Env. : Windows Server 2012 R2, BO BI 4.1 SP7, Tomcat7, JRE 8, Windows AD, SQL Server 2014
I get SSO+WinAD for WebI RC in "2-tier" mode but not in "3-tier" mode.
SSO+WinAD is OK for BILP.
I start WebI RC from BILP but it seems that "...\Documents\My SAP BusinessObjects Documents\LocData\VM-BOBI41_cloud_xyz@6400_j2ee.extranet" file is not updated correctly (in bold) on client:

I have a callculated object that clalculate from 2 other objects.
Object = @Select(Obj1) - @Select(Obj2)
Im getting this error.
if i put the DB calculation instead of @select function it works fine.
if i put only one @select function it works fine.
I'm getting it only by putting 2 @select functions.
in other objects it work fine.

Is it possible to view tables associated with a universe without using Query builder?.
This is required to know empty tables, not used tables which are not loaded for some years. Hoping excel vba would support. Please advise.

I am on BO 4.1 Linux server. I am looking for a way to schedule webi report which based on a text datasource. Is there an automated way to achieve this? I am aware that BO 4.1 supports excel datasource from BI launchpad, but not text, unfortunately.

I'm new in BO so would like to clarify a few points.
So now I've just started investigate Rich Client and faced with "light" problem- when I drag and drop some objects(simple columns) to report side- report generates normally, expected.But then, after I ,for example, add new column to the report and run query again - I see same set of columns and same report as was before,first time. I'm just playing with Rich Client so it is local reports, not exported and those not saved into repository, but anyway for now I reopen Rich Client each time when I need to run new report, that is not comfortable.
SQL itself generates normally, I see new columns in poor SQL code after changes, but target report anyway stay old, so it keep initial set of reports columns.
I'm using probably old version of WEBI Rich client:12.7.0 , but anyway should be some workaround.

when I am working in WEB I, the interface starts to freeze and every time I click on anything that should pop up a window ( such as creating a new variable etc.), nothing happens until I move the cursor away from the screen and click on a random space outside of Web I screen, which then triggers the window to pop up.
I know this might not be a BO issue per say, even though I do not have this problem with any other software or Java app online, but any help or ideas as to why this is happening is appreciated.
The issue can only be resolved if I log out of Web I and close Explorer.
We are on BO 4.0 SP11. Browser IE 9 and IE 10.

I'm facing an issue when i'm saving my webi report which has multiple donut charts from Webi rich client to launchpad. I have created a new custom palette in the color palette section and assigned it to the donut chart. The colors work fine after I save in the rich client, however when I save the report to Launchpad it resets to default.

I would like to seek for your assistance regarding on the error that we've currently facing in WEBI.
To restrict the data of a certain report in WEBI, we have managed the user's access via AA (analysis authorization) and in BEX query (we put Processing By: 'Authorization' )
Running the report in WEBI was successful (with the automatic filter of data which is based on the restriction we put in AA).
The issue occurs when we click the link to open a graph from the generated report.
But when we click OK then refresh the report, the graph will show up.
We are using SAP BO BI Platform 4.1 SP 6 Patch 5

We use BI Platform 4.1 SP4.
What is the best way to schedule reports in Webi while maintaining security integrity? There are 12 report writers, each using a unique ID number. We do not email reports from Webi.
Our admin is proposing to create a generic account that all of the report writers can share to schedule the reports (the idea being that scheduling would not embed individual user IDs into the schedule. I think the concern is that when a report writer leaves the organization, the ‘scheduled by’ field would not show the legacy user ID. Thus the goal is to make scheduling imune form staff turn-over issues.
The problem I have with this idea is security. It would provide a generic ID and PW to log into BI Launchpad, which could end up in the wrong hands. Thus, my question…. In an environment that has multiple report writers, what is the best way to schedule reports that would also be immune from user turn-over issues (I think the presumption is that when a report writer leaves, their reports would need to be re-scheduled unless we schedule them with a generic ID… I am not sure this presumption is valid).

What are the options available for such thing? Do BOBJ reports take portal theme, does BOBJ support Blue Crystal or Gold Reflection Theme?

(FWB 00003) to add the switch "–requesttimeout 3600000" to the command line of CMS Server. How can i do this? I cannot stop the CMS and add because CMC will get disabled. Is there any other option?

I would like to know following information for my knowledge.
With SAP BO 4.1 SP3, it has started supporting HANA variables and input parameters in Relational HANA Universe. But while refreshing the WEBI reports on top of that Universe, the variables are presented along with some Technical Details. Please see the screenshot below.
Here is my first question -
1. Is there any way to have custom text (without Technical details) for variable which is more friendly for Business Users e.g. "Select Country" etc.?
For the above requirement instead of creating the universe objects directly from HANA CV, I know we can create a derive table in Universe and map universe prompts to HANA variables using PLACE_HOLDER keyword (Usually done using something like select * from <CV> 'PLACE_HOLDER'....etc) and create universe objects from Derive table instead of CV directly. But I wonder if that would impact performance of WEBI Report built on it. Here is my second question -
2. Assume I have a BO universe defined on HANA Calcualtion views with variables whose variables are exposed through derived table using the syntax mentioned above and a WEBI report created on top of it. In the WEBI report, I am selecting only 4 objects out of 10 available objects in Universe from the same Calculation view in HANA. While executing the query, does the entire HANA Calculation view gets executed (all 10 objects) or only the ones that are used in query i.e. 4?
Please help me understand.
