OpenDoc Session 'Null Object Loaded' Error

Hi all. I have a WebI report that contains an opendoc hyperlink to open a seond report in a new IE tab when viewed in BI Launchpad. If users click to open the new report and then go back to look at the first report, it is showing the following error -

'while trying to invoke the method com.businessobjects.sdk.core.serverIServer.process (com.businessobjects.sdk.core.server.IServerRequest) of a null object loaded from local variable 'server' (Error:INF)'

 

Its as if when the second report is opened the user session for the first one closes. Does anyone know if there is a fix for this? Ideally we want users to be able to view the reports on seperate tabs alongside each other.

Connect BOWEBI 4.1 to Dynamics CRM on Cloud

Hi all,

Can BOWEBI interface with Dynamics CRM?

Dynamics CRM is on Cloud so there is no possibility to connect directly with the database.

Is there any other plugin/instruments to connect, someway, to the Microsoft CRM?

Good day

 

 

I am experiencing the above mentioned error on BI Launchpad when trying to open reports after we have upgraded to BW7.4, however the report are running on Rich Client but not on BI Launchpad. this is happening on both Webi Reports and A40 reports. our BO platform is on  4.1 SP06 Patch 1

 

I have tried the following

 

1. open the reports on Rich Client and  save them again on Repository- No difference

2.  De-selected the refresh on open on the report and save it , and try to open the report-Still no difference

 

 

 

 

Please assist if u have seen this error before.

 

Your responds will be highly appreciated.

How to display the current time based on region in webi?

Hi SAP Techies,

 

I have one requirement where in I need to display current time based upon regions in the world. For suppose, if the region is Nepal, then the current time in Nepal should be displayed in webi report. The time for the region should be exact i.e, irrespective of DST or any other instances like this.It should be updated on its own based on the region. Iam working on SAP BO 4.0 sp04. Can you suggest solution for this?

How to view tables associated with a universe without using Query builder ?

Hi,

 

Is it possible to view tables associated with a universe without using Query builder?.

 

This is required to know empty tables, not used tables which are not loaded for some years. Hoping excel vba would support. Please advise.

How to identify causes for slow running WebI 4.1

Hello all,

    One day, a user reports that one WebI report is taking 30 minutes instead of normal 1-2 minutes time. Assume that they are with latest SP/patches and no changes done to that report recently. How to proceed to identify the reasons on the system and fix it, with steps, please ? I tried, but couldn't find this information on SCN, please. Will it have different approach whether the WebI is created on BICS Connection or Universe by IDT, please ?

How to join "If" statements

I have an if statement that works great:

 

=If([Lead ISM]) = "Auger" Then "Auger" ElseIf([BP: ISM]) = "Auger" Then "Auger" ElseIf([BP: ISM-2]) = "Auger" Then "Auger"

 

Auger is someone's last name, I have about 35 of these names and instead of creating them all individually, I would like to make this one dimension and include everyone.

 

What is the proper way to join these together, I have tested them all out individually and they return the correct data, but they are way off when I try to combine them all together, I feel like I am not joining them correctly.

Syntax sInstance=Param

Hi all,

 

I need to link my reports from Webi with openDocument, but i don't know the syntax to use sInstance=Param.

 

I tried to use:

="<a href=http://server:8080/OpenDocument/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?sType=wid&sDocName=TEST&sInstance=Param&lsSID=2>TEST2</a>"

 

In the syntax above, the child report TEST has a prompt ID, and i want to open the last Instance for the parameter ID=2

 

Can somebody tell me the syntax to use sInstance=Param?

WEBi 4.1 intermediate page while opening a report

I have noticed while opening a report... opendocument.jsp redirect to a page blank page with wording 'business object open document' on top left corner and quickly direct to the real report...

 

sometimes this behavior changes to redirect to a blank page with few html code and then quickly redirect to the real report...

 

any people notice this and how to get rid of that intermediate page?

 

I think it is happening while getting redirected to

BOE/OpenDocument/1511131303/OpenDocument/opendoc/openDocument.faces ...

and it will be gone after

BOE/OpenDocument/1511131303/OpenDocument/opendoc/openDocument.faces?logonSuccessful=true&shareId=15&bttoken=MDAwRGZJTWZFbl5fQl0wamJ ...

webi4.1 firefox Illegal access to the viewer, please use a valid url

I am currently on webi 4.1 sp3

When I am trying to open a BO report... I am getting Illegal access to the viewer, please use a valid url. error message... however when I try to open the the same report in Chrome.. it works fine... anyone has any idea why would this happen?


my firefox version is 43.0.2...


I have also tried to login into myBI by using IE Chrome and Firefox... I am getting same error message for Firefox but not IE and Chrome...


is it a compatibility issue or there is some configuration I will need to make?

create a variable to count customer by size

Hi

I am new in BO, and trying to create a new variable to calculate how many customers sell the two size of the brand. My data is

 

customer   size      sales

x               750 ml     1

x               1.75L       1

y               750 ml     1

y               1.75ml     1

z               750ml      1

 

so my result must be 2, because the customer z only sold one size.

 

How can I make it?

I am responsible for basic CMC,CMS maintenance  and user management.I'm new to this platform.Can you please guide me on what kind of basic health check  activities do we perform on CMC,CMS? Also please throw some light on  basic user management activities .

OS: Windows Server 2008

SAP Business Objects - UDT using HANA database

Hi Friends,


This is very urgent.


I Need your help, I wanted to develop a universe using HANA database but the problem is that there are multiple tables which we called VDM have no any related data fields, or columns or Dimension or any kind of Similarity is not present between tables, but any how i wanted to join those tables. so that i can develop the universe.


Question is how to join unrelated tables in UDT 3.1 version.


P.S: (VDMs - developed on basis of calculation model in HANA)

How to merge Totals from different categories in a cross tab

Hi All,

 

A previous developer had created a cross tab report with the following fields: Location, Department, Year, Month and Count of Accounts as seen in the attached Image (Crosstab_1)

I need to be able to combine the totals from the respective Department into the corresponding Location and Department.

 

As an example, Data from Location = All Cities for Apr, May and Jun from Department = ABC Grocery, DEF Clothing and XYZ Kitchenware should be added to Location = Los Angeles and the respective departments.

 

Similarly, data from ABC restaurant, JKH Clothing and LMO Kitchenware from All- Cities needs to be added to Location = New York and the corresponding departments.

 

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi, I know there will be some options/sdk etc will be available to fulfill this. Can anyone knows the details can you please update? We have more than 50K reports in our repository. We are trying to find the report SQL for each report. Any existing solution available for this? We are using BI 4.1 SP2. Thanks.

BO User Dialog Processes keep running in BW for long time

Hi All,

 

We have dialog user in BW for OLAP connectivity between BO and BW. (BO version 4.0)

We have observed that the dialog processes of this BO user keep running for a long time in BW even when there are no webi reports runnning in BO.

 

We have checked this in SM51 many times and we had to manual kill the processes as it used to impact the performance of BW system.

 

 

 

I would appreciate if anyone would suggest the possible causes and solutions to overcome this issue.

Double hop authentication setup in BO 4.1

Hello Gurus,

I am having a situation here.

I have Application, DB, and Business Objects on three different servers.

My BO server has been configured with 32 bit and 64 bit ODBC drivers using Windows authentication.

Connections have been tested successfully on ODBC Drivers, and Universe.

Now the issue is when the reports are executed on the rich client, they are fine. But, when I execute the same report on Info view ( launchpad) I get the SQL server driver authentication. When I further digged in , I came to know that we need to have SQL server authentication on driverse instead of Windows authentication. Client's policy is against this and they do not want to have the user changed to SQL server auth.

They suggested if we can do the Double hop authentication , where an anonymous user goes to infoview or launchpad and executes the reports, and then it takes the windows auth user to reach the DB and retrives the results and displays in the report.

Is this possible? If yes, can you please suggest with a work around of steps need to be taken?

webi prompt context selection

I encountered a problem.

 

I migrate 3.1 webi report and universe to 4.1, everything is ok.

 

But when I refresh webi report with webi intelligence rich client,  context selection prompts, as follows,
