Webi 4.1 report opened via Launchpad – Data disappears when the page or mode is changed.

Hi,

 

I have a webi report which is connected to a dashboard and displays details as per the inputs via dashboard. It has a strange problem. The report launches correctly with correct data but as soon as someone tries to go to move to another page all the data vanishes. When the report is manually run again the data comes back and the issue does not reoccur till the window is closed and the report is reopened again. Data also disappears when someone tries to go to the design mode. Strange thing is that it happens only on the launch of the report. My thinking says the report is corrupt but needed additional view

How can we apply Folder Level Security for a particular user group?

Hi All,

 

I am new to CMC . I have a security issues in folder level which is not getting resolved.

 

If there are around 10 folders (Ex: A,B,C,..) under public folders given access to  10 user groups (Ex: A1,B1,C1...) respectively.

 

If A1 user group has to see only A folder and B1 user group has to see only B folder and not any other public folders, how should i grant the access?

 

 

I have seen a forum where they were telling to remove the access of "Everyone" group from each and every other public folder which the particular user group does not need access.

 

If the number of folders keep on increasing then it would be a very difficult task. So is there work around procedure for this. Please help me.

Text variable on webi syntax

Hello Guys,

 

I need help to come up with webi syntax to calculate current day of the fiscal period.

 

We run daily sales report in webi which is built on BEx.

On the BEx side I have a text variable which pulls and display current day of the fiscal period based on the day report runs "Daily Sales Day 09 of 28 (32%) Period 02 2016"

When I developed webi, I could not use this BEx text variable and need to create a new variable on webi side which shows similar kind of text which we see in the BEx (highlighted above in blue).

Can anyone please help me creating a webi syntax to populate this kind of text on the report execution on daily basis.

 

Note that our Fiscal Year is different is Calendar Year

displaying parent child records in groups in WEBI

Hi All,

 

We are using SAP BI 4.0 SP9 and are reporting on ticket data.

Our dataset is for example -

 

Ticket numberParent Ticket NumberChild Type
100n
101100y
102100
103n
104103y
105103y
106103y

 

So I want to display this in the same way grouping all the child tickets under the parent ticket?

I have ran out of ideas on how to do this, as I tried to break the parent number, that way I got all the child but not able to display the parent and its child tickets in a group. Also I have to color code the parent as green and its children as blue

Any help is appreciated

Challenge issue - Runningsum with limited range

Hi There,

 

I am trying to count total incidents in every 90 days and select those IDs have total incidents > 10 during 90 days. Here attched the corsstab report I created for your reference.

        YearMonth

ID     201301   Sum     201302  Sum   2013-03   Sum  ..... 201601   Sum

A             1            1             2         3             3              6                3            64    

B             2            2             4         6             1              7                1            59 

C               ......

 

I tried to use:

Column"YearMonth" =FormatDate([MyDate];"yyyy-MM")

Column"Sum"=RunningSum(Count([Incident Number]);Row;([ID]))

 

but it would return the runningsum for alll months, how can I limit the runningsum to only sum the last 90days/3months?

For example:

Show sun of 201302,201303,201304 at RunningSun after 201304

Show sun of 201303,201304,201305 at RunningSun after 201305

 

I also tried to use but not works:

Column"Sum"=RunningSum(Count([Incident Number]);Row;([ID])) Where ([MyDate]>RelativeDate([MyDate];-90) AND ([MyDate]<=RelativeDate([MyDate];+1))

 

I wish to achive this using functions, filters directly in WeBI, not create Universe or tables, is it doable?

Prompt Error

Hi,

 

I am facing a weird error while trying to refresh the Webi report.

 

Like when i first run the report , the Prompt page opens and i refresh the LOV for a specific Prompt and it shows all the LOVs.

But when i refresh again all the Prompts are showing some specific LOVs which is not the full list of LOVs.

 

Not sure if its a Tool bug.

 

Please let me know if anyone faced the same issue and resolved it.

Dynamically change report rows based on a percentage

I'd like to create a report that shows list price, sale price, discount (list price - sale price), and discount percentage (discount/list price), organized by percentage.  The source data comes from a fairly detailed and complex universe with sales data.  Without modifying the universe, I was hoping there would be a way to force webi to dynamically create rows based on the each percentage level. What I have right now looks something like this:

 

List Price     Sales Price    Discount    Discount %

500            485            15          3%

 

 

But I'd like to have the report look something more like this, where a separate line is shown for each discount:

 

List Price     Sales Price    Discount    Discount %

200            198            2           1%

100            97             3           3%

200            190            10          5%

 

 

Is there any way to get webi to separate the % values into distinct categories (e.g. treat the discount like a dimension instead of an aggregated formula/measure)?

Column header as blank

Hi Gurus,

 

I am creating a "Cross tab" table over e-fashion universe. We are in "SAP BusinessObjects BI Plateform 4.1 SP 4".

As you can see, state and city, are appearing blank for the "Quantity Sold" measure.

How to make the column header, appear for all the KF's/Measures used in the cross tab.

Repository for WebI report based on Excel File

Hi Experts,

 

I want to prepare a WebI report for mobile deployment in real-time using Excel file. I am a bit confused now as to where to store the Excel sheet as it has to keep on updating on regular basis based on the output of a back-end ABAP program. As and when the ABAP program is executed, it has to update my existing excel file in the BO server (by the reference of the server path). The steps I followed so far is as follows:

 

- created excel file based on the output format of the ABAP program

- created ODBC connection to the excel file

- prepared the universe based on the excel data from the designer

- generated the WebI report for mobile deployment

 

** the excel currently resides in the local drive of the server

 

Please suggest where exactly should I place the excel file so that I can generate a link directly to the ABAP back-end program. (Am I suppose to configure the File Repository Server in this regard?)

Refresh frequency of scheduled jobs

Hi,

 

Once jobs are scheduled to run, it refreshes periodically updating the status from pending/running etc. Is there a way to control those refresh frequencies?

Like increase or decrease the time interval.

Disable the Design button on Webi reading mode in BI Launch Pad

Hi experts!

 

In my environment I have a kind of user who can view and refresh the Webi reports, but he can not change and save the report. The problem is that I need to leave enabled the tools of Track, Drill, Filter Bar and Outline. Below an image that exemplifies how I want to do:

In the CMC I changed the user security on the Web Intelligence application to use an access level that I created based on the copy of View On Demand access level "View On Demand (2)."

 

In Included Rights on access level View On Demand (2) there is a right "Application \ Web Intelligence \ Reporting - enable formatting." If I enable this setting then the user can use the tools Track, Drill, Bar and Outline Filter is enabled and also the Design button. If I disable that right then and ferrametnas Design button are disabled.

I just need to disable the Design button. How can I do this?

BO - Ranking to get the Top 5 (not in order)

Hi everyone,

 

I need help with a functionality in Webi. Recently the costumer for which we work has requested a characteristic that it has implemented in his Excel reports.

 

This feature consists in coloured the five highest values (top 5) in a column, withouth display them in a determined order (just coloured), like it is shown in the image below

The problem for us is that we are not capable to reproduce this design in a Webi report. We are using the SAP BO 4.1 SP5, and we have tried everything. All of this must be done using a Conditional Formatting, but to get it, we have to do other things previously:

 

- Use the "Ranking" function when select the column "IMPACTO DIFERENCIA", making a rank by this variable

- Create two variables: one that allows to get the max value, and the other one that gets the minimum value (always greater than 0). But we can't just select the five highest values between both of them.

 

Anyone can help us?

Combine variable and object from another Universe

I need to compare the values of two columns from two different Universes and one of these columns is a variable(so I cannot use merged dimensions) created at report level. Please suggest if there is any way to do achieve this in Webi.

Failed to retrieve the cube for connection (xyz).(Error:INF)

Hello ,

 

Any body faced this error (Failed to retrieve the cube for connection (xyz).(Error:INF)????

 

Replication steps: Open the webi report in Launchpad-> refresh the report--> error appears.

 

Component info:

BOBJ Version: SAP BI 4.1 sp2 version 14.1.2.1121)

Report: Webi report

Source:BEX/CUBE

Connection: OLAP

BW : SAP BW 7.3

 

At first i have checked the user availability ( lock or unlock)  olap connection --- locked --- hence unlocked the user from BW

 

but still the issue is remains...

 

What my thought is: Cube or Bex or un available..?/inactive?secured bex query?

 

kindly suggest on this.

 

Note : Don't have access to BW,BEX..
