Report Filter & User Response

Hello,

 

Need your suggestion with the possibility of using userresponse function for prompt & Input control selection using reportfilter function simultaneously.

 

We have a requirement where user will run the report by giving prompt values for e.g prompt says :

 

Choose Sales Manage  : and user chooses three names Rebecca , Smith & Jack

 

This names will be displayed in the header of the report in a table using UserResponse function.

 

Later the same variable we have used in Input Control with checkbox, so the user would be having this three names in Input Control for selection again, so if user chooses to see the sales report for Rebecca & Smith only then he will do the selection at input control.

 

Our requirement is that the selection should be displayed in the header again, currently this both functions works well independently.

 

Is it possible?

 

Please advise.

How to display Total and Grand Total in Section - Webi 4.0

Hi All,

 

 

Need your help with the below requirement in Webi 4.0

 

 

We have Gross Sales Value with a hierarchy of District Number and Store NUmber

when we put a section on Store Number to display the Gross Sales value, we need to show Gross Sales Value at the Store and also total at District Level

 

 

Store level works without any issue

but how to show district level total in section

 

 

Tried with below

 

 

=[Gross Sales Value] ForEach([District number])

 

 

the above only displays at specific store level

 

 

=[Gross Sales Value] ForEach([District number]) In Report

 

 

it displays total value in the report but won't split at district level

 

really appreciate any inputs on this..

Text variable on webi syntax

Hello Guys,

 

I need help to come up with webi syntax to calculate current day of the fiscal period.

 

We run daily sales report in webi which is built on BEx.

On the BEx side I have a text variable which pulls and display current day of the fiscal period based on the day report runs "Daily Sales Day 09 of 28 (32%) Period 02 2016"

When I developed webi, I could not use this BEx text variable and need to create a new variable on webi side which shows similar kind of text which we see in the BEx (highlighted above in blue).

Can anyone please help me creating a webi syntax to populate this kind of text on the report execution on daily basis.

 

Note that our Fiscal Year is different is Calendar Year

 

Will appreciate .

From Requirement to Visualisation

Good morning,

 

I am struggling to get a good process put into place for developing reports/dashboards etc (visualisations).

 

Currently the process works as follows (same as everywhere else in the world);

 

1. Obtain Requirement from customer

2. Build Universe

3. Write report / design / develop dashboards etc

 

What i am struggling with is the artifacts, documents, etc that needs to be created to make the next phase easier to do.

 

I.e. (this is just an example) Step 1 - From the requirement create a source to target map in Excel with these fields at minimum (template to complete) Step 2 - Now complete this form that form. Step 3 - Use these docs to now create your universe and check Step 4 - etc

 

Is there anyone out there that could help me with a good solid way of going about this? Even suggestions on where on the web i could find good resources would be appreciated.

#multivalue in break

HI all,

 

I have zone and club dimension objects and m1,m2...m5 as measure objects.

 

for each zone there are 6 clubs. I have break on zone. when I use below formula; I get #multivalue error.

 

Formula : =(Sum([M1]In([Zone Name];[Club Name])In Break))

 

I want structure like below excel block

User groups and access to folders and WEBI documents - security question

Hello,

 

I am having a few issues with access to folders and reports.

 

I am almost fine with my own account access - changing it the way I want as an administrator but I want to apply the security for others, basically restricting folder and report access.

 

Ideally a user should only see folders they have access to, like these two folders logged in as TEST user:

The TEST user is a member of two groups, "Everyone" has no access to any folders, KDR_STARTERS_IV group has access to the above folders:

So, the above is working fine.

 

Now, with my own access:

 

I am a member of "Everyone" (no access to folders or reports) and another third group "TRAMCO\dl-business" (not a member of another group). Folders are organised to be accessed by specific groups and TRAMCO\dl-business has "View On Demand (Inherited)" type of access to folders, which I can't remove.

 

I am temporarily taking away access from myself to any group to test, so that I only belong to "Everyone" and "TRAMCO\dl-business". When I log on, I can see all folders, which is not right but I don't know exactly how "View On Demand (Inherited)" works.

However, when I try to run a report, I get an error, which I expect:

Which is good. Now, another user with identical settings, belonging to the same groups ("Everyone" and "TRAMCO\dl-business"), CAN run this  WEBI report. This where I am lost completely. I am experimenting with my own account to restrict users' access but not winning.

 

I need to sort out, why I can't restrict users' ability to VIEW folders (unlike TEST user) but it's a lower priority.

 

Some urgent help would be appreciated to resolve this security issue.

Oracle Analytic Function

Im building a modality turnaround time report and I'm trying to filter out patients who are only listed once. Wondering if you know what that function may be I have 'person name' but Im thinking I should switch from 'Person Name- Full' and add 'MRN' and look for that specific analytic function that will keep MRN's that appear twice and remove or hide ones that do not. Any ideas?

My thought is if I can keep the patients that appear twice-they had two modalities and I can compute the 'daysinbetween' which i found that function.

Scheduling error for reports with DATE prompt

We recently upgraded to SAP BI 4.1 Service Pack 6. As part of requirement , We converted deski report to webi using RCT and  while scheduling WEBI reports with DATE prompts. The reports throw an error: An internal error occurred while calling 'answerPromptsEx' API. (Error: ERR_WIS_30270) (Error: INF )  . The same report runs perfectly fine when run on-demand mode. We tried editing, refreshing and saving the report but that doesn't work. if anyone faced similar issues and if there are any workarounds/fixes .Please let me know

How to avoid display of the grand total across the breaks on the table

Hi All

       Please help me in resolving a problem.My report involves break on specific dimension(Cleansed Country), and display count of Legacy_data

and Cleansed data for the dimension-"Cleansed country".I have used the Sum function using forall() for calculating the grand total.But the grand total is getting repeated across the breaks.Please provide a solution to this

Running Sales 2016- It's a variable (=Last(RunningSum(([Total Sales]);([Fiscal Year]))))

Graphs in BILaunchpad / Web Intelligence version 4.0 SP 4

The Problem we have is that documents with Graphs work fine when created in Web Intelligence Rich Client and published to the BI environment . However as soon as we edit from the BILaunchpad they start displaying as a red X and display an error message. The only way to fix is to import into Webi RC,  recreate the graph, and republish. We have tried these resolutions from SAP support:

  • creating an APS with dedicated Visualisation Service
  • Adding the service to the web intelligence APS

but nothing has resolved this issue.

 

We have a development system version 4.1 SP5 which does not display these symptoms . Does anybody know:

  • When this problem was fixed ?
  • Does it affect 4.1 versions ?
  • Is the any way to fix in 4.0 ?

 

 

Any thoughts are greatly appreciated

Error:

   When trying to run a webi query I'm getting: An internal error occurred while calling 'processDPCommandsEx' API (Error: ERR_WIS_30270)(WIS 30270).

 

Background:

   When the report was opened originally I received the message: The current query contains unresolvable objects.

I started looking at the objects in the first query of this report. The first few objects were all hidden (grayed out). Now this universe is made up a many core universes. The first three objects were from one of the core universes that were grayed out. I can parse the object. If I select "view associated table" it doesn't take me to a table. I belive this is because it just trying to perform as a function( the select is   trunc(sysdate) - 1/86400. I stopped checking after the first three out of ~ 20 objects were hidden. I then went to the filters just to see what would happen there before moving too far with this query. When I try to run just this query I get the following error: An internal error occurred while calling 'processDPCommandsEx' API (Error: ERR_WIS_30270)(WIS 30270). Now I didn't create this report so I'm not familiar with it. The objects don't seem familiar either. I don't remember putting an object that is labeled "Clinical Event Date Result - Prompt" into the Results Objects field. The seems wrong to put a prompt there. With that being said the objects icon looks like a dimension, it has a blue dimond with green Asterisk, so I believe that it may be ok(why are the other dimensions just the blue diomond alone?). I believe that the name is just misleading, because the object just seems to be function used to create a date value.

Formatting rows to get Output

Hi Team,

 

We are Looking for a requirement where we will have different set of rows.

I will Provide the Numbering On the rows through row Index.

 

What Our requirement is based on a Filter\ Input\ Prompt ( have to still figure that out  still ) we should be able select particular rows only.

Like If I choose rows as 2 then Only row number 4, 6 . 8 should be there rest should disappear.

 

Similarly if I choose 3 then Only 6, 9 , 12 , 15 should be there and rest should not be there.

Looking forward to you replies.

Format the Pie charts with its dimensions and measure

I am trying to format the Pie charts with its dimension and measure.I have attached the graphs with existing features and wanted features.In the existing feature i can get percentage/value but not the country name and values with pointers.I have tried to get both(country names and counts with pointers and no legends) in the graph .I think we had this feature in 3.0 .I could not found that in 4.0.Could you please help me on this

BI 4.1 SP7 & LDAP/AD Trusted authentication

Hello,

 

We facing a problem with trusted authentication in BI 4.1 SP7 with user mapped from LDAP.

 

We have 2 AIX plateforms 1 Bo tiers and 1 Web tiers (Tomcat 7).

 

We can manually connect users LDAP.

 

We activated sso with trusted authetication. When we test with Query_STRING like :http://server:8080/BOE/BI?user=Administrator, it works.

But when we try the same method with LDAP user, we facing the issue:"user must have at least one alias (FWB 00010)".

 

Our licences have 2400 named user and the plateform have for the moment, >100 users.

 

Does someone have an idea to resolve our issue?
