Multiple Queries From Same Universe Objects

I've created a simple document in order to try to explain what I am doing. There's really more to the report and the queries, such as variables, etc., but I'm hoping this gives a general idea.

As this shows, my report is leaving out one of the combinations I require. Unfortunately, since Field4 has the same value in both cases I can't tell which one it's leaving out. This is first encountered on the second page of the report and doesn't seem to be an issue if there exists an "A" record for the Field2, Field3 combo, even if there is no "B" record. It seems, however, that if there is a "B" record but no "A" record I get the above problem.

 

(To clarify, Column3 is strictly for "A" values and Column4 is strictly for "B" values.)

Webi 4.1 SP7 - see last instance issue - report automatically refresh

Hi there,

I'm scheduling several webi reports, all reports run at 11:00 am and they are properly saved in the CMS.

 

The problem is when I try so see the one of the saved instances.

In all documents when I try to see the last instance, the system opens the document without any problem and I can see in background the values from 11:00am, but every time  one popup with a status bar saying "updating data" opens and then the data is changed and the user cannot see the values from 11:00 am.

The flag "Refresh on open" on my report is not checked...


Any idea?

format number issue

Hi Experts,

 

we are facing an issue with format number.

we are using this function to format the number : formatnumber([measure];"#,##0.00) then out is 40,501,000.00

 

Now user wants like this 40.501.000,00

 

Please give me any idea how to change the formula.

Formula needed to count the number of code

Hi,

 

I need a formula with some additional context to count the number of [CODE] in the report, could be one or more.

 

 

The report is filtered with 2 examples of Id's displaying more then once. The highlighted column in the report should display 2 for each of these, and the others one. The formula used to count the code is =Count(Code);All.

 

I have attached the sample data.

WEBI - Export as CSV(data only) - Loose leading Zero's

I have a field [Facility Code] = [021,031,001] which is type 'String' in universe.

 

When I add this field on WEBI report output, I see data in right format [021,031,001].

 

When I click export as excel, that also looks good [021,031,001]

 

Issue comes when we do export as CSV(data only) and it loses the zero's in prefix [21,31,1]

 

We want to use the option of Export to CSV(have query stripping turned off) as we have 15 fields in report output but around 45 fields in query which user can export as CSV. So fields like [Facility Code] loose leading zeros in export as CSV

I have downloaded and installed SAP BusinessObjects BI Platform 4.1 Support Pack 1 (Version: 14.1.1.1036) but am having an issue when I try to run the Web Intelligence applet.

 

The following is what happens:

 

1. A Security Warning popup appears asking if I want to run the application. I accept the risk and run the application.

 

2. I then get an error "Your session timed out. Close the Java interface and log on again."

 

I have gone through so many articles about this error and nothing seems to be fixing it. Please help!

Today 4/27/2016

 

I have a code to return Year and number of month.

Ym LM-2( Dimension)

=If(MonthNumberOfYear([Key Date])<4

;[LY]+FormatNumber(MonthNumberOfYear([Key Date])+8;"00")

;[CY]+FormatNumber(MonthNumberOfYear([Key Date])-4;"00"))

Key Date( Dimension)

=RelativeDate(currentDate();-1)

 

LY( Dimension) 

=FormatNumber(Year([Key Date])-1;"0000")

CY( Dimension)

=FormatDate([Key Date];"yyyy")

 

LY Return 2015

CY Return 2016

Key Date Return 26/04/2016

 

Ym LM-2  Return 201600 << This is Problem

Today Month 04 >>>>> ;[LY]+FormatNumber(MonthNumberOfYear([Key Date])+8;"00")

Should be 2015+(4+8) = 201512

 

I Really want Month -2,-3,-4 = 201602,201601,201512

BO Webi report shows () for null values,Need to replace it with Null text

Hi there

 

I have a webi Report in version BO 4.1,which gives below out put but it also generate (), I need to replace it with Null Text. Please suggest what can I do to make this change.

 

Below is the variable which has been applied to format it to %.

BAdI called multiple times in WebI

Dear Experts,

 

We are facing a issue whereby the BAdI RSR_VARIABLE_FF4_RESTRICT_BADI is being called multiple times in WebI report and hence degrading the performance of the report significantly.

 

Request you to let us know your inputs.

 

We are on BO 4.1 SP06 and BW 7.3

Detail report on multiple tabs

Here is an example scenario similar to what I am trying to accomplish -

 

We need to generate a weekly excel file, where the first sheet contains date and total revenue for each day of the week; And then have additional sheet containing order details for each day where revenue was greater than $50k. For example, if last Monday and Thursday had revenue over $50k, then we will have a sheet for each day in our excel file with order details line items. We need sheets only for the days with revenue over 50k.

 

Any help is appreciated. If this is not feasible in WebI then please suggest possible alternatives.

 

Data source is Unx over SQL Server tables.

Webi report Prompt throwing error.

Hi,

 

I have a webi report built on Bex query. Bex query has some variable which is appearing as prompt in webi report.When a particular user runs its throwing error.Attached is the error screenshot.

The strange thing is that myself(administrator ) and some other users are not getting this error.

So is it something like related to user security/authorization issue with that user.

Security team has checked the users authorization and they say its fine. Any idea how to debug this issue.

Please help.

How to prompt Users a target DB to refresh a report?

Hi Experts,

 

There is one requirement to refresh a single report from multiple databases.


In this scenario, DB structure is same and same objects are available in all database just data if different.

 

Can anyone please suggest me a way to get a prompt in the report to choose the db or universe to get the refreshed data in the report?

 

Please let me know if any more detail is required.

WEBI Parameter Passing - multiselect prompts - open in excel

I have a WEBI ReportX which has 5 prompts which are all mutliselect. On reportX I want to create a hyperlink which calls another WEBI reportY.

 

I want the same prompts entered in ReportX by user to be passed as ReportY and the ReportY should open is excel(default).

 

What should be my syntax of hyperlink and how do I read the host name dynamically so that I dont have to update the link when I move content from DEV->TEST->PRod

Display 0 as Null (blank)...is it possible?

Is it possible to display 0 as blank cell?

 

I tried following formula but it is not working.

 

Variable Display Blank Cell = If [Sales]=0 Then " "

Else [Sales]

 

I am getting #DIV/0 error because the value is 0.

 

I want to avoid this problem by showing blank cell.

This way, I do not get error.

Calculating running count based on conditions in WEBi

Hi All,

 

We are facing an issue to achieve one of the requirements in WEBi. I have created a small excel file based on my client requirement. And i need to implement the same in WEBi.We need to implement the logic in WEBi for Column D highlighted in yellow(Column E is a formula, referencing column D).

 

Can someone help me out with proper Variables how to achieve this in WEBi.

Resetting running sum based on condition

Hi All,

 

I am facing a challenge in figuring out the way to derive the below values in WEBi.

In the above table, when a month has no actions (Actions = NILL), I have to reset the running sum of No. of Weeks per month from the beginning of the next month.

 

I am not getting any idea on how to achieve this.

Calendar View in Input Control

Hi guys,

 

Waned to create a Input Control Calendar view of "Date" object in WebI 4.1

 

User should be able to select Start Date and End Date from this calendar.

 

I tried creating Calendar option in Input Control on Date but somehow it is not showing selected result set.

 

Any suggestions please?.

rows restriction for excel data source

Hi expert,

 

     I am using excel file as data source for excel file, but only get limited rows populated in webi report. I can find setting for MAX row number for excel file. can you please help how to pull in all rows for excel file
