Webi Hyper link selected values are not passing to the second reports

Hello,

 

I'm developing  a webi BO webi report. when I execute initially it should display all company codes summarized data.

 

when I select particular company code, it should display detail level data.

 

To achieve the above requirement I created 2 webi reports. 1st report displaying summarized data 2nd report detail level data.

 

In the first report I created hyper link for company code cell's. URL as follows

 

http://<server name>:<host>/BOE/OpenDocument/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?iDocID=<Report name >

 

&sIDType==CUID&sType=wid

 

 

when I selected particular company code company code, value's are not passing to 2nd webi report to the company code filed.

 

But 2nd report is calling, values are not passing.

 

what do we need to add to the above URL to pass selected values to the 2nd report.

Number to Binary string conversion

Hi All,

 

Need help!

 

I need to convert a number coming from oracle database to binary string (for ex. number 7 will have 111 as binary string). I thought of looking for this function at three levels:

 

1. Underlying DB level - Found no in-built function but we can create a user defined function which would syntactically dependent on the selected DB.

2. BO IDT level - Thought of creating this function in a derived table select statement but that did not work. IntToHexa is there but no IntToBinary.

3. WEBI Report level - No option.

 

Please help.

I would like to know the fastest way to do time series functions in BO, such as year-to-date, month-to-date, year-ago, month-ago, etc.  Could you please help?  Thanks.

Hi

Since I’m new to Web Intelligence reporting let me explain how I would resolve my problem in Excel first and maybe someone can suggest a Web
Intelligence solution. To build a Summary report from detail reports in Excel I would perform a VLookup on multiple worksheets and return the value to the Summary tab. I wouldn’t try to recreate the data on the Summary tab since the information is already contained in the workbook. My question, is there a similar way to reference information on individual reports in Web Intelligence (thin client)?

Need help in writing a formula in webi 4.1

Hi,

 

I need to identify the users who has a role (for ex: HHP)  in ECC but not in BW (same role). I have a 'role' column in the report which has all ECC and BW roles displayed in one column. How do I write a formula to get the desired result.  I appreciate any suggestions.

Webi 4.1 against BEx Query performance issue

We just migrated to 4.1 BObj from 3.1 in prod on monday since then we have noticed a performance issue with our BW based queries in 4.1.  They never return data if we run the BEx query or the 3.1 version we get data in the expected amount of time and in 4.1 it will OCCASSIONALLY return.  One thing we have noticed in BW if we watch the jobs in SM50 for the 4.1 runs that return data they spend all there time reading the E & F fact tables of the cube its based on for those that DONT run we see them quering against the SID tables for the objects in the cube.  What maybe causing this at this point we think there is a code somewhere in 4.1 we are still using UNV not UNX long story on why but thats where we are.

Unable to save the webi report results in CSV file in XIR2 environment

Hi Team,    

 

We have one WebI report in BOXIR2 version and it fetching nearly 76+ records in the report. The report is running fine without any issues and when i am trying to export the results into CSV file we are getting the error msg (Maximum Binary file size exceeded WIS30271). The file size is more than 80MB and hence it throwing this error. I have checked the Maximun Binary File size that is set in CMC and it is set to 80MB.

 

When i ran the same query in the database and exporting the results in to csv file the file size is under 80MB. I would like to know the reason why there is a difference in the file size when running the query manually in database and exporting in to csv file and to export the results set in to csv through business objects.

Database error: (CORBA) "Error on Fetch" . (IES 10901)

Hi Folks - I'm getting "Database error; (CORBA) "Error on Fetch".(IES 10901)" or "Database error: (CORBA) "Error on Describe" . (IES 10901)" when scheduling a webi report.

 

The reports complete, albeit usually long when refreshing, but when attempting to schedule, either one the error above is show. I doesn't seem like there's any action in particular that causes one or the other - in fact i've been mostly getting the "Database error: (CORBA) "Error on Describe" . (IES 10901)" but recently started getting the "error on Fetch"

 

The only pattern we have noticed is that it only occurs against SQL Server data sources. We reports that run against oracle db data sources but we do not encounter the error when scheduling against those sources.

 

I haven't been able to find much on the error out there on the error. I've reviewed KBA's 1402451, 1500465, and 1347906, but to no avail.

 

Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated.

Create a Webi report using QAAWS as a data source

Hi Experts,

 

I am on BO 4.1 SP 3, and using the Webi Rich Client to create a WEBi report using a QAAWS url as a data soruce.

 

This is the first time I am trying this, so any tips/helpful links are welcome.

 

I get the below error, when I try to map the fields. But I do not have any personal data files involved.

URL Variable

In the below screenshot, I have a column where I have a Web URL. Two Questions

 

1. Is it possible for this variable to display as "Click Here" instead of the actual web address? (note hyperlink functionality must remain)

2. Is it possible for the left hand column ("Pos 1") to have the hyperlink instead?

Convert Number value into English Words

I got a strange requirement, i don't know whether its possible in Webi or Not. My requirement is

 

If one of my column contains Numeric digits. i want to convert it in to English words

 

Eg:

BO WebI Report Issue

Hi ,

 

Please help us to resolve the issue,

 

We are using Greenplum 4.2 and Business Object 4.1  , We can able to connect the BO Universe with Greenplum and can able to pull see the data.

 

But when we try to connect the Greenplum with Webi we are getting the below issues ,

BO4 - Data tab shows date as 01/01/1970 but actually now on database

Hi,

 

Using bo4 webi and noticed whilst report correctly shows date as blank/null in report (no object format in universe) but date in data tab shows as 01/01/1970.

 

 

Any idea why this is the case?

Average Calculation for Available Data only

Hello Gurus,

 

I have a requirement where I have to calculate Daily average based on Hours (24 hours). We get one reading for every hour. SO 24 readings and divide them by 24. It works fine when I do a calculation like ([Measure]/24) as Hours would always be constant.

 

The problem comes when we miss some readings for few hours. In that scenario User do not want to take those hours into consideration for which reading is missing.

 

How can I achieve that?

Any suggestions?

Concatenate multiple rows in a single column

Hi

 

 

I am using Web Intelligence v4.0x (i think) and I am hoping to get help.
My query (from Performance Management Module) has a field name called "Device Name" and it has two rows, server1 and server 2 (maximum of 33 servers)

 

I am trying to concatenate these values so that a blank cell in a report reads

 

"Devices are: server1, server2"

 

I am not able to concatenate server1 and server2 (i.e. get server1, server2) in the above statement. I've tried to use Previous(Self) and it does not work. I get output in two rows as

 

server1,

server2,

 

Any assistance or direction is appreciated.

How to Ignore Negative Values from taking into consideration while Calculating MTD sales

I need to ignore negative Sales (Returns) from the Month to Date Sales  and calculate the Average only for those values.

How can I do that.

 

I researched on net but could not find any useful suggestions.
