We have a case logged with SAP Support but wanted to see if anyone has come up with a workaround for this WebI/BICS snafu
If anyone out there has a workaround to cear out the behavior, as we are hoping to avoid adding a patch to the system....been through 4.1 SP2 patching to chase issues..gave up and went to SP3. Largely ok...except for this showstopper.

I have created a publication for report bursting when i am scheduling in my Development environment it is working fine and reports are generated but when same publication i m using in PRODUCTION environment it is showing below error

Hi Experts,
I am just trying to find a way to change the default location/position of 'refreshing data' or 'retrieving data' progress bar pop-up window from center to top left corner of webi workspace.
I am using html viewer for viewing and refreshing the report.
I tried to look into a lot of js files and was not able to find this. But it should be set as default somewhere necessarily, isn't it?
Any directions would be useful.

I am using WEBI 4.x and the dataprovider is a BEX query.
I need to combine two related rows in the dataprovider into one row in the results.
The source data:
Field 1 Field 2 Date
ABC 100 1/1/2001
DEF 100 2/1/2001
ABC 200 3/1/2001
DEF 200 4/1/2001
I created two queries, one restricted to ABC, the other to DEF. I created a Merged Dimension on Field 2 but I get DataSync error when try to combine the fields in one table.
The requirement is to display the results as
Field 1 Field 2 Date ABC Date Days Diff
DEF 100 2/1/2001 1/1/2001 31
DEF 200 4/1/2001 3/1/2001 31
Is it possible to produce these results in WEBI using Merged Dimensions or is there a better method?
I am running BI 4.1 and everything seems to be enabled when I log in to BI launchpad using administrator credentials but when I log in as a super user user, by default, Design mode and some of the other options are disabled. I have tried almost everything but am not able to figure this out. I need the super user account to be able to design reports in WebI, and save and distribute them.

We are evaluating adding images dynamically to a column of the table in a WEBI report(BO 4.1). I would like to know if anyone on this forum has tried this out and have numbers in terms of many images were you able to add to the report and what is the time taken to load the report.
Also could you confirm my understanding that if we want to add images in a shared directory in a cell, we need to assign that as a URL to the background of the cell. Which pic format worked well with exporting to Excel/PDF?

Environment : SAP BO4.1 SP3 and Back End : MS Sql 2005
We do a monthly job processing where in a webi document we pass the current values of year-month combination.
Every month we are told to schedule this report by passing the values which are in prompt.
These values are stored in database and each time, we need to schedule the document.
Issues to be done
1.Prompts values take longer time. How to optimize them at universe or at report level(We have gone through every minute details of report and universe optimization.)
In the said file too, it takes time to retirve the data set on right clicking 'Table Values'.
2.How the said document be Automated to run every month as publication so that we do not pass the prompt values which would be decided when report would be run ?

I am new in SAP BO, I am trying to send Webi 4.0 report to enterprise users using email in excel (zip) format, There is 1 report which is working fine on the same universe and I am able to receive in excel in my email inbox, however another report with different fields is coming with no data (12kb of excel file), when I run the same in Webi with same prompt values, it works fine.
Earlier I was facing different issue where I found that optional prompt was not supplied and it was throwing error, when I removed optional fields then it worked. Not sure whether it was issue with optional prompt or something else. It has become bottleneck of my deliverables, Can anyone share his experience on this.

I need to create a report which would then be used to generate word documents using VBA. I select the relevent objects from the universe, however as I'm creating financial statements some of the statements have beneficiaries which need to be included on the main statement. At the moment it's creating a new set of information, therefore each beneciary would receive its own statement.
I've tried to explain it in a screenshot I've edited using paint. I want all the beneficiaries inside the same table (I'm using a form table).
Beneficiaries all share the same policy holder id, so pseudo-code would be something like:
If Policy Holder ID = Previous Policy Holder ID Then
Add beneficiary#2 to Current Table
It's hard for me to explain what I'm wanting to achieve, I've never used WebI before so I appreciate any help!

I have 2 blocks in webi side by side, based on the selection of Account id block shows selected Amount/Data in each block.
output of the report: Block 1(1 row) for 1st Acount ID | Block 2(2 rows) 1st Acount ID
and Block 1(1 row) for 2nd Acount ID | Block 2(1 row) 2nd Acount ID
I need to keep the data in Block1 same number of rows as Block2
I need to add the extra space after 1st acount data of block 1 .
It is not a cross tab report. My intension is to keep the data in both blocks should match with the Acount ID
Did anyone come across this type os issue. Let me know your thoughts.

I'm installing the business objects client tools BO 4.1 SP1, and all the other tools works fine, but the web intelligence rich client does not show the dropdown box with the authentication methods.
It comes up with Stadalone, and i type the server name, but the box stays empty.
Tried unistalling many times.
Any Ideas?

I have 2 queries in my report and both are merged with one of the dimension objects (Ex: country_code)
Report has:
2 formulas to count the clients that have mobile and no mobile.
2 tabs, one with summary where we show the 2 formulas and the other tab to show 2 formulas by country_code.
Issue is that the totals are not matching between both the tabs. I did bring the country_code from the query where the mobile details are coming from but it doesn't work.
Formulas:
count_of_clients_with_mobile: count(client_no;distinct) where (mobile='Y')
count_of_clients_without_mobile: count(client_no;distinct) where (mobile='N')

We are having a problem with a Webi report built on a relational universe (.unx). IDT is vers 4.1 sp 2, Webi is 4.1 sp3.
The HANA View has optional date prompts. It works with a year/month range, or defaults if the prompts are empty
When the business layer was created in IDT the HANA View was run and certain prompts were entered
Now when previewing the data in IDT or opening the report in Webi, the prompts are always initially set to the original values when it was run in IDT (which are not the current defaults in HANA).
We have tried from the Webi perspective Data Access -> Purge -> Purge All (with the clear last selected prompts option selected), but the prompts come back. We have also tried rerunning in IDT with blank parameters, but the keep coming back there (that is the original values)
Any ideas on how to remove the prompts? We don't want the users to have to keep adding in prompts when they run the report (as there are a few HANA views included, each with their own prompts). It also prevents scheduling.

Now, I have created hyperlinks for the No. of Projects column that opens a detail report. Also, there is drill filter for Dept. Name.
I selected the filter for Dept Name "A" which displayed the output shown below.
Dept. Name | No. of Projects |
A | 5 |
Sum: | 5 |
The problem I am facing is - when a drill filter is selected and I click on the Sum row, the detail report shows all 12 projects instead of 5.
Could you please give some ideas on how to resolve this issue?

I have applied conditional formatting on a Webi Column called "Employee Hours". Basically, it highlights in Red "employee hours less than 40" in a week for a department. I was wondering if there is an option in Business Objects where every-time a "Red" cell is identified, the Dept. Manager automatically receives an email. Some kind of a work flow option. Do we have this kind of an option available in Business Objects? Your thoughts are appreciated.
Is this possible in WEBI XI ?
If not is there a way to get pass the issue?
