Issue with Bar chart

Hello,


We have one variable Material Group = =If(([Mat] InList ("A";"B"));"GroupA";If(([Mat] InList ("C";"D"));"GroupB"))

 

When we have material A, B, C,D then displying column chart with two bars for GroupA and GroupB (Chart is on Group and Qty Order)

 

When we have material A, B then bar chart is displaying only with GroupA on X axis as there are no material for GroupB.


But i am expecting both values GroupA and GroupB on X axis. Display one bar for GroupA and no bar for GroupB.

 

Any sugession please?

Average Calculation for Available Data only

Hello Gurus,

 

I have a requirement where I have to calculate Daily average based on Hours (24 hours). We get one reading for every hour. SO 24 readings and divide them by 24. It works fine when I do a calculation like ([Measure]/24) as Hours would always be constant.

 

The problem comes when we miss some readings for few hours. In that scenario User do not want to take those hours into consideration for which reading is missing.

 

How can I achieve that?

Any suggestions?

How to Ignore Negative Values from taking into consideration while Calculating MTD sales

Hi Guys,

 

I need to ignore negative Sales (Returns) from the Month to Date Sales  and calculate the Average only for those values.

How can I do that.

 

I researched on net but could not find any useful suggestions.

BEX custom variable does not reflect in webi report?

HI Experts,

 

IN BEx side created custom variable .But that variable does not working properly in webi intelligence.

 

for example in bex custom variable having current month and next two month  value return but in webi it does not work properly

Hi All,  I am trying to create a webi report using a analysis view as a source I am getting this error message

error:

'The universe generation using the resource id "xxxxxxxxxxxxxx" has failed. (WIS 00000)'


I have admin privilages...


Has anyone faced this error message..

Combined Prompt Crashes WebI Report

Hi,

 

We are on BO 4.1 SP2 Patch 1.

 

I have a WebI report that has only one query. In that query I have three prompts, I combined two of them with exact same text, same parameter ( e.g Keep last values selected, do not show list of value...etc.).

 

Now I refresh the report, everything is okay. I select values for two prompts and refresh goes well. Then I refresh again, select a different value for the combined prompt. Refresh, then get error message saying

 

"An internal error occurred while calling 'processDPCommandsEx' API. (Error: ERR_WIS_30270)(WIS 30270)"

 

I close the window. Hit refresh button again, now I see the prompts window with three prompts instead of two.

 

It seems combined prompt is not working and makes the report crash. I wonder if it's a product defect? Anyone came across this situation before? Your suggestion is appreciated.

Serious Newbie question about Alerters

Hello!

 

I just recently starting using the BusinessObjects reporting tool for my job. I am trying to apply some alerters to my report for fields that don't contain a comma. I was able to use "Matches Pattern" in the query building part but, I need these non-comma having fields to be highlighted for training purposes.

 

In Excel, I would use the "Contains" filter to find the fields I need. Is there a way to do an alerter so it looks for part of a field and not the entire field?

Webi 4.1 on relational universe on HANA - old prompt values not cleared

Hi,

 

We are having a problem with a Webi report built on a relational universe (.unx). IDT is vers 4.1 sp 2, Webi is 4.1 sp3.

 

The HANA View has optional date prompts. It works with a year/month range, or defaults if the prompts are empty

When the business layer was created in IDT the HANA View was run and certain prompts were entered

Now when previewing the data in IDT or opening the report in Webi, the prompts are always initially set to the original values when it was run in IDT (which are not the current defaults in HANA).

 

We have tried from the Webi perspective Data Access -> Purge -> Purge All (with the clear last selected prompts option selected), but the prompts come back. We have also tried rerunning in IDT with blank parameters, but the keep coming back there (that is the original values)

 

Any ideas on how to remove the prompts? We don't want the users to have to keep adding in prompts when they run the report (as there are a few HANA views included, each with their own prompts). It also prevents scheduling.

Webi- Issues when using multiple Queries

Hi All,

 

 

I have a requirement as follows:

A crosstab which will have Year dimension both in the vertical and horizontal header. How ever the horizontal header should have years chosen by the user.

And the vertical header should have all the years that belong to that dimension.

Audit1  2011                N     N      N

Audit2  2013                Y     N      N

Audit3  2014                N     Y      N

 

For this I am using two queries.

Query 1 ->Audit Name , Year

Query 2 ->Year with a multiselect prompt

 

 

But the problem with this is that after exec uting the queries the Year dimension gets merged and gives me a union of all the years.

Also if I avoid merging the dimensions, it gives up the infamous #DATASYNC error.

 

However I want crosstab horizontal header to show up only the selectd years(that are selected using the prompt by the user).

 

 

Please help.

reports saved in My Favourites can't be accessed

My access was revoked mistakenly. I've got back my access again.

I'm unable to see my reports saved in My Favourites folder.

 

Can I get my reports back in My Favourites folder?

Webi scheduling error in BO 4.0 SP04 after security patch updates in windows server 2008 R2

We are getting  below error in BO 4.0 SP04 Web Intelligence report scheduling after security patch updates in windows server 2008 R2

 

while trying to invoke the method com.businessobjects.sdk.core.server.IServer.getServerContext() of an object returned from com.businessobjects.rebean.wi.impl.services.DocumentInstanceManagementServiceImpl.getServer(com.businessobjects.sdk.core.context.IContext, com.businessobjects.rebean.wi.model.engine.IDocumentInstance)

 

 

We have reverted back security patch but still giving above scheduling problem in  BO 4.0 SP04 WebI and we can view and refresh report.

Is there any way to fix the scheduling problem in BO 4.0 SP04 WebI?

What controls heading colors in SAP BI 4.0 Web intelligence?

My user is running a crosstab query against the first .unx universe published in production.

We are on SAP BI 4.0  no SP.

 

When a normal query is run the heading columns default backkground blue and print white.

However, on the crosstab the other groups on top and filters on the left defaulted black print on the blue background.  This is a different default than he expected or wanted.

What would have caused this?  Can this be set to always default as a single query?

 

I will tag this question in the Semantic Layer as well because I am being asked did this happen in the Information Design Tool - .unx.  or in SAP BO.

Total Values Displayed at the Top of Bar & Stacked Bar Charts

I have a bar chart and a stacked bar chart that show values.  I would like to have both of them show values at the top of the bar showing their total.  Currently the regular bar chart shows the total but is in the middle of the bar, while the stacked chart only shows the subtotal per stack instead of a stack total.  How can I achieve getting the totals on the top outside of the bar and showing the stacked bar column total instead of each stacks total? WebI Report performance issue

Hi Experts,

 

I am having webi report based on OLAP Universe. I scheduled the report. Two months back this report was running fine within 20-35 seconds. Now we can see lot of fluctuation in report execution time, it got increased.

 

Average execution time 150 seconds for 80 instances.

Minimum execution time 19 seconds

Maximum execution time 610 seconds

 

We have done the cube compression and enabled bex query setting.  After it got reduced the average time.

 

Average execution time 107 seconds for 50 instances.

Minimum execution time 30 seconds

Maximum execution time 304 seconds

 

But still some instances are running around 300 seconds. The report is running based on calmonth prompt, so we don’t have much difference in data compare to each month.

 

I am using BO 4.0 SP4 patch 10 and BW 7.0 SP12. Could you please help me how to reduce fix this performance issue?

Hi Experts,

 

I have create report top of universe with 1 query.But inside report i created multiple tabs.Data also less but while executing the report it will take so much time. How should decrease the waiting time.

 

I followed performance optimization:

 

1. ALL formula created in Bex itself.

2.Enable Query Stripping

3. Remove auto width and auto height.

4.scheduling the report.

 

Please tell another some performance tuning.

Webi 4.1 against BEx Query performance issue

We just migrated to 4.1 BObj from 3.1 in prod on monday since then we have noticed a performance issue with our BW based queries in 4.1.  They never return data if we run the BEx query or the 3.1 version we get data in the expected amount of time and in 4.1 it will OCCASSIONALLY return.  One thing we have noticed in BW if we watch the jobs in SM50 for the 4.1 runs that return data they spend all there time reading the E & F fact tables of the cube its based on for those that DONT run we see them quering against the SID tables for the objects in the cube.  What maybe causing this at this point we think there is a code somewhere in 4.1 we are still using UNV not UNX long story on why but thats where we are.
