Ranking and Sum of Other Results / Keeping ranking in Charts

Hello to the community,

 

 

I'm a beginner on SAP BO and trying to get around a problem.

 

 

I've a table of data, and inserted a Top 15 ranking (over hundreds of results).

 

 

I would like to :

 

- Insert an "Others" lane below the Top 15, to display the totals of all other results. I tried to use the following instructions, but did not get any results.

I am ranking values, not percentage, with a very simple formula:

 

=Rank([SingleMonth].[Market Chargeable Weight])

 

Then I create the detail as follows:

 

=If([Agent Ranking (Chargeable Weight)]<15;[SingleMonth].[Market Chargeable Weight])In([SingleMonth].[Market Chargeable Weight])

 

If I drag and drop this detail where I would need to see the results, then I am just getting  no value (attached image NoValue)

 

 

- Keep the Top 15 in the Pie Chart, currently it's picking up the complete set of data from the results, not only the Top15. I guess this is related to the above.

Read this in a What's New document for SAP BO 4.1

 

2.12.4 Custom color palettes and color assignment in charts (New)

You can personalize the appearance of charts in Web Intelligence reports by defining colors to dimension objects

by using customized color palettes. You can set this color assignment on one or more dimension objects

throughout all of the charts in a document using the Set as Default Colors option.

The automatic color assignment to a chart’s legend items generated by a palette can be made set to all instances

of a chart in a document using the “Set as Default Colors” option. The default colors do not change when you

apply refresh on open, drilling or filtering to a document

 

 

I am on SAP BO 4.1. SP2 but don't see the "Set as Default Colors" option. Where is it?

How should merge two rows value into single row for same dimension?

Hi Experts,

 

In my report value are showing two rows for same dimension. How should make it as single rows.merge.JPG

 

Here i have attached the document. In that document we are using same plant name and vendor, material number. But value are showing different line.

Date conversion format error

Hi

 

I'm facing an error, when I try to capture user entered value by using Userresponce() function.

 

(user entered value would be date). Then after converting date to the format MM/DD/YYYY by using function Todate().

 

The date is not at all converting to MM/DD/YYYY and giving error.

 

How can I convert date user entered value to this format MM/DD/YYYY.

Not able to find Efashion Universe

Hi ,

 

I have installed SBOP_BI_PLAT_4.0SP9_CLNT tools. Now I want to access Efashion universe. I checked in the below path but I did not find any universe.

C:\SAP BusinessObjects\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\Samples\webi\

 

Kindly let me know additional installations for accessing the Efashion universe.

How to fix SAP error QA-255 Inspection, Material # is blocked and cannot therefore be processed

I was wondering if anyone came across an answer to the SAP error, QA-255, - (Area) Inspection, (Message Text) Material # is blocked and cannot therefore be processed.

 

I've tried searching online but could only find the error code number; no solutions to what could be causing the problem.

 

Does anyone have any advice?

Set default Webi View/Modify modes to HTML for all users

Is it possible for the Admin to set the default View and Edit modes for WebIntelligence to "HTML"?

 

HTML mode seems to work much better than the Java Applet mode. Users have run into various problems with java applet mode.

 

Is there anyway the Admin can default all users to HTML mode. Users should be able to change it if needed but default should be HTML.

Replace a Webi report with a new version without impacting associated publications/schedules

I have a report in a Public folder that is used within a publication to send out emails .

 

I copied the report into my favorites and modified a few things. Now how do I copy it back into the same Public folder such that the existing publication/schedule is not impacted and doesn't need to be redone?

 

If I just copy it back and put the same name will the Publication pick it up?

Start web intelligence Form on new page

Hello All,

 

I have a webi form ...I would like a new form start on new page. Right now my form starts right after the first form for any data.

 

Instead of each row of data showing up one after the other...Can i show in next page? I tried to look for options in  Format Form...I did not find any.

 

Any inputs appreciated.

Restrict the data sources for Web Intelligence reports

Hi together,

 

I am trying to find a solution how to restrict the displaying of different data source for Users while creating a new WebI report.

 

I know that it is possibile to deny the access to universe for example, so that the user does not see any universes even though he/she is able to slect Universe as a data source.

 

I also tried to remove the right "Desktop Interface - enable local data providers" within the Access Level I used for the certain users. But it doesn't work for my case.

 

I hope anyone has a solution or a hint how I can just show my users "BEx query as a data source" for new WebI reports as they should have only this possibiliy.

 

In my case the situation is the folliwing at the moment:

Scheduled Webi Reports - Omit if no Records

I have a number of scheduled critical Webi reports that run daily and emailed to individuals.  95% of the time these reports are expected to be empty. As a result, these individuals are bombarded daily with empty reports.  Outside customized coding, I am unable to locate an option within the scheduler to execute only if there are records.

 

Would you know of a work around?

 

Please advise.

Formula/Function Question

I have a data field that captures todays date; along with a data field that captures a time horizon of 36 months, or 60 months, etc.  I am trying to get the report to capture today's date plus  the 36 months(example) and then subtract 30 days(1 Month).  Example, If today is 10/1/2014, and my time horizon is 36 months, the report would return 9/1/2017.

sort Lov's by ascending order

I am using an object in my report query ....but the lov's are not in ascending order. What do i need to do when the report prompts with this object and the lov's should be sorted in ascending.

Hide when formula is true condition is not working on SAP BusinessObjects BI Platform 4.1 Support Pack 4

Hi Everyone,

 

We are migrating our system from SAP BO 4.0 SP6  to SAP 4.1 SP4. where  Universe is based on SAP HANA Database

 

In report, we have used element linking to connect 2 tables, one is for summary and other one is detailed information table. 2 tables are linked by month field such that when we select any month in summary table, then detailed information table will appear and will show detailed info for that month only.

 

 

To implement this we have used the "Hide when formula is true" table property.

And wrote a condition that when count(Month) > 1 then it will hide.

 

this condition is working fine in Old  BO version (BO 4.0 sp6) but not working in BO4.1sp4.

I had tried to modify the condion(used different condiition ) but it is not working in BO4.1sp4.

 

 

Guys please help

Last used values are displaying in Webi Prompts

Hi,

 

I have created a Webi report based on the Bex query using BICS connection.

When we refresh the webi report , it is showing last used values in the prompt, which we dont want in the report.

This prompt is directly mapped to Bex variables but not in the Query filters in Webi(If we have we can uncheck at 'Keep last values selected'.)

 

Please provide any inputs to solve this issue.

Filter - multi-select ISSUE after migrating to R4.1

Experts,

 

We recently migrated from R2 to R4 and one of our most important Universes has a multi-select filter pre-defined as such when you look at it with the Information Design Tool:

 

USER_DT.MTH IN (@Prompt('Enter as of Months', 'A',,multi,))

 

The syntax Parses just fine. But when I try to use it in a simple query with Webi 4.1 it is only successful when I enter 1 month. If we enter more than 1 month it throws this error:

 

Database Error: [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Statements could not be prepared .. (IES 10901) (WIS 10901)

 

It's interesting because when you look at the SQL syntax from webi it writes it correctly using the 'IN' clause.

 

Any thoughts or direction?

WEBI on Bics, let user define different automatic time periods (YTD, MTD...)

Hi all,

 

We have defined a generic query on BEX that is displaying most of the characteristics and key figures present in our BW cube.

 

On top of our BW backend, we have setup a Business Object 4.1 SP2 front end that end users can access through BICS connection only.

 

The problem we are facing now is the following :

 

Our key users would like to be able to build Webi report that are automatically filtered on certain time periods :

- Last month

- Month to date

- Year to date

-...

 

The only way that I can see is to create as many query on BW that there is type of restriction, filtering the key figure with user Exit Variables.

 

But is there a way to let the users define their own automatic time restrictions without duplicating the queries on Bex side ?
