Hi,
I have this requirement to create a WEBI report having 2 date prompts(START DATE,END DATE).
Client wants to have a condition on the prompt so that START DATE should be always less than END DATE and if the user enters a date for END DATE which is less than the START DATE , it should throw a ERROR message.
Is this functionality achievable in WEBI?

I have successfully built a few webi reports on top of BPC transient queries.
However, the client requirement is to be able to select a node in the PARENTH1 hierarchy and see all members for that node displayed in the webi report.
If I enable the prompt it only returns that node.
If I enable the levels or members it won't allow me to prompt selection.
I am unable to select both
Any ideas on being able to do what should be a simple requirement...?
I can display all levels within the webi report. But requirement is to just show the desired level / members from the selection.

Hello,
We are facing problems with WebI reports while replacing the OLAP connection. Afterwards, most objects disappear and BO prompts are not longer availables.
Though both connections are used to reach the same Bex query, the difference is how the original and the new one are defined.
Orignal OLAP connection (already in place) is defined at Multiprovider level, whereas the new one at Bex query level.
Any idea to overcome this issue will be appreciated.

Please help me in choosing the best method to recreate the query in Universe so that the above query can be retrieved in WEBI.
One option that i can think of is add table LIBRARY in universe and then add 2 aliases --EXEMPT_BOOK and EXPIRED_BOOK and join them to LIBRARY using LEFT OUTER JOIN.
So the generated query in WEBI will be

COUNT (EXEMPT_BOOK.BOOKID) AS TOTAL_EXEMPTED_BOOKS,

We are using WEBI 4.0 SP6 with BICS/BEx Queries and BW Hierarchies. Our prompts are based on BEx Variables.
I have a question regarding hierarchies containing text nodes and the possibility to display either the medium length text or the long text instead of the short text in a webi prompt based on a bex hierarchy node variable.
A hierarchy containing text nodes is created in BW and a prompt is created in a BEx query with a bex hierarchy node variable.
A WEBI report is created using this bex query as datasource.
The text nodes in the hierarchy in the prompt in WEBI are always displayed with their short text.
I also have a hierarchy with text nodes which have only medium-length text defined and in this case only the first 20 characters from the medium text are displayed for the text nodes in the webi prompt.
Is this a known limitation or is there a way how to display the medium length text or long text for text nodes in a bex variable prompt?

Need to change the type of object so I am using ‘todate’ function but gating #ERROR. | ||
There is a webi report which needs much resource to refresh it and groups of users: Group1, Group2, Group3 etc.
Every group should view only data of its own company.
(In real there are a hundred of reports and about 20 groups of users.)
The task is to refresh the report at night.
I have considered 2 ways.
Is there other way to solve the problem or use considered ways more efficiently?

I have a number of scheduled critical Webi reports that run daily and emailed to individuals. 95% of the time these reports are expected to be empty. As a result, these individuals are bombarded daily with empty reports. Outside customized coding, I am unable to locate an option within the scheduler to execute only if there are records.
Would you know of a work around?

We are creating WebI Reports on top of Bex queries connected via BICS.
ISSUE: In Bex query we created input ready variable with default value as current date. This variable is used in RKF and not in characteristic restrictions. The problem which we are facing is that the default value (current date) is not appearing in the WebI Report.

I have a problem with my generated report and i would like a solution in the report level as i do not have access to the Universe at design level.
I have a Report where there are these Fields : Procedure ID , Reference Name, Reference Type & Reference Rev.
For Each Procedure ID , the Reference Name has two Values with Reference Type as EO & AD & the Revisions are shown under the Field Reference Rev. I want to Contatenate these so that they show in the same Row

I don't know if you faced the same problem but from time when I moved to SAP BO 4.0 from 3.1 every time when I install new ServicePack some old reports aren't refresh or refresh with missing values. Of course every time I create incident in SAP and every time got information that in higher SP this problem is resolved and it is but every new SP destroy something in other reports and it's frustraitng

we are on BOXI 3.1 SP3, sql server 2008 DB. Have a publication that uses dynamic list from a webi report. This works fine when the "Deliver objects to each user" is checked, however it is failed when the same is unchecked. We do not want to deliver the report to each user seperately as the users have the same personlization values and should get one publication.
