Sorting issue with alphanumeric values in Object

Hi Gurus,

 

I have a webi report, in which we have an object TOS_CD. The values of the TOS_CD are like 01A,01B,01C,01C.1,01C.2,02A,02B,03A,03B,03B.1,03B.2,04C,04C.1,04C.2........      05A,05A.1,05A.2,05A.3,05A.4,05A.5,05A.6,05A.6A,05A.6B,05A.7,05A.7A,05A.7B,05A.8,05A.9,05A.10,05A.11,05A.15,05A.30.

 

We have used the object in the report and it is sorting exactly as per above.

 

Recently we have included another data source and created some merged objects and used them together in the report.All the measure objects are working as per expected but only sorting of the TOS_CD are displayed differently in the original tab of the report to the merged tab of the report.

 

Attaching the screenshots. Please let me know where I'm doing the mistake.

 

There is no sorting happening on the original report earlier so kind of confused here...

First two screens are from original tab of the report where sorting is happening in one way and last two screens are from other tab where sorting happening in different way.

Query Filter does not have OR operator in BICS

Hi,

 

I have a Web Intelligence Document created using BICS connection.

When I go to Query Filter pane and create filters using more than single dimension I get an AND operator by default.

While the requirement in some cases is also to have the ability to include an OR operator for certain filter criteria.

I have come across SAP Note 1687933 and it suggests that this is as "By Design".

What is the suitable workaround to achieve the OR operator functionality using BICS ?

YTD and Current month calcuation in same Graph/Table for the dimension values

Hi Team,

 

       We have a requirement to display the Bar chart with YTD and Current month in the same.


We did the YTD but for the current month we are stuck.


Report is based on the HANA view based universe; we have the variables defined in HANA view directly and no variable in Webi or Universe.

 

When running the report the date is filed is poulated as shown below; but on single variable "Posting date" both 'Start Value' and 'End Value'.

The mesure 'amount' should display based on the 'End value' from the user Input.

Also, we do have a dimension called 'Month'.

Acheived YTD using the formula "=([Amoun])/Count([Month])"


How to achieve the current month based on the variable from HANA veiws?

Filter in the WebI Report

Hello All,

 

We are working on DeskI to WebI conversion project.

 

In Deski, there is a option to define formula inside the filer . We have two tabs in the report. For 1st tab, they have defined filter for an object which starts with "2B" or "2I" and in the second tab, they have defined filter for the object with starts with "2A"

 

Right click on the border of the table --> Format Filters --> Add --> Define.


=SubStr(Policy Insured Code,1 ,2) InList ("2B" ,"2I")

 

=SubStr(Policy Insured Code ,1 ,2) InList ("2A")

 

 

How to achieve in WebI ? In the first tab, I need to filter first Policy Insured Code which starts with "2B" or "2I" whereas in the second tab, I need to filter policy Insured Code starting with "2A"

Folding/unfolding error in webi

Element Linking not working

Hi,

 

We have a authority problem in Business Objects concerning the possibility to do element linking in the reports based on how the properties are defended for the different groups in CMC.

 

Report 'A' is present at folder :/System/USA/Sales

 

 

 

The column Terminal in the first table have a WEBI linking element so you should be able to click on the terminal in order to filter the information in the table below

 

 

This works perfectly during development from test user (ABCD111) but when we test it just using users that only have view rights the linking doesn't work, you don't get any possibility to click.

 

 

 

If we change the authority in the CMC so that the users become a super user it works but we don’t want this users to be super users. This is not working for normal user group and working perfect only for Super user groups.

 

 

 

We would like to get an answer to what rights must a user have to be able to perform element linking in a report

 

 

How do we implement this in our authority model ?

Problem - Webi merging a variable with a dimension

Hi All,
 
I'am new here and also a newbie in Webi.
 
I need to merge a variable with a dimension. After some research, i found, it is not possible. may be you have an idee how can resolve my problem:
 
I have 2 queries :
 
Query1:
Person, Parent, HouseId
 
A    A    1
B    A    2
C    B    Null
 
 
Query2:
HouseId, Number, Street
 
1    11   s1
2    22   s2
 
 
I want to build one report (HouseId, Number and Street for a Person, if the person has no House get the one of the Parent):
 
Person, Parent, HouseId         Number,   Street
A    A    1                                  11        s1
B    A    2                                   22       s2
C    B    2(HouseId from parent B) 22       s2
 
I merged the diemsnions HouseId from the queries but still only have data if the HouseId is not null.
 
So I created a new Variable

Code:
HouseId_Merged =  If IsNull([HouseId]) then (HouseId In [Parent]) else [HouseId]


and it works for HouseId.
 
But i can't get the Number and Street for the Person C.

Eexport background image to Excel

Dear experts

 

I know this question has been asked several times but I didn't find a suitable solution.


I am trying to export my webi report to Excel. This works pretty good apart from exporting a background image on the title report.

 

What works is if I create a blank cell and define an image as background the image is being exported to Excel. If I do the same steps on report level however it does not work anymore. Is there a difference in handling a cell background image compared to a report (whole site) background image?

 

Another way I tried to achieve it was by setting up the cell to be full page width and height. But if I export then to Excel the first cell contains the image and all the content is in the next rows (But the content is supposed to be on the image; dark image, white font).

 

Is there a solution or a workaround on how to achieve what I am looking for?

Hi Gurus,

i have one doubt on sap bo universe.

the sap bo architect created one universe and exported into cms.

 

As a report developer i access the universe using webi.

 

my doubt is how to know  the accessed universe is single source or multisource-enabled univers?

Upgarding and Migrating SAP BI from 4.0 to 4.1

Hello All,

 

I am upgrading and migrating SAP BI 4.0 to SAP BI 4.1

 

After up-gradation do we need to take a copy of "file store" from older version (SAP BI 4.0) which contains IFRS and OFRS, and need to paste on newer version (SAP BI 4.1)??.

 

Please suggest for this.

How to display max values and add remaining values by hidding minimum row values

Hi all, Kindly help me in acheivie the result.

 

Ex: Consider we are having two dimension as "Name", "Product" and Measure as "Unit Sold" in webi report.

 

NameProductUnit sold
JohnA50
JohnB100
JohnC75
PhilipA60
PhilipB90
PhilipC100
PhilipD80

 

Final result output should be...

NameProductUnit Sold
JohnB225
PhilipC330

 

 

Clarification :

Show  maximum "unit sold" accross for all "product" and for each "Name" and hide the remaining rows in table

 

Kindly help us in acheiving the result.

linking between chart to another WEBI doc without using opendocuemnt

Hi There,

 

      I want to create link from a chart to another WEBI document. I am in BOBJ 4.1, there is no 'document link' feature from chart. eventhough I think it can be retrieved by defining OpenDocument link. but I am wondering if this linking feature has already been implemented somewhare in BOBJ , which is more convenient thant opendocument.

Merged Dimension in Web Intelligence Report

Hi All,

 

I have a requirement to display records based on 2 merged dimensions ( total 4 dimension 2 from each data provider) in a single webi report.

 

Value of 1st merged dimension would be : CFN-380775236-1

 

Value of 2nd merged dimension would be Truncated value of 1st dimension i.e. CFN-380775236 .

The Purpose of using this truncated merged dimension is because the first data provider has some records where the value of common dimension is CFN-380775236-1 and we need records from second dataprovider where the common dimension value is CFN-380775236-1 , CFN-380775236-2, CFN-380775236-3 etc.


Now what is happening when I merged the report based on 1st dimension then the some records are getting missed.


However when i am using the second merged dimension then all the records coming however the records from 1 first data provider and 2nd data provider are not coming one to one order as shown below.

So can someone help me how i can display all the data without missing any records , also it should be one to one. Can i use both the merged dimensions based on some conditions.

we have 100 desktop intelligence reports developed in sap bo 3.x environment( on 8 universes)

 

now we want to migrate all the reports into sap bo 4.0 webi fromat..

 

now i need to use report conversion tool to migarate..

 

i have a doubt...

 

first i need to convert all the reports or universes..

Default values for a Report

Hello All,

 

I have a report where i need to implement the following value (Default) for the date prompts.

 

Start Date -  Current DateTime

End Date  -  Current DateTime + 3 Months

 

Currently i have "Start Date" and "End Date" as the prompts but these "Start Date" & "End date" are not being used in the Query filters.No idea from where these "Start Date" and "End Date" are coming from.

 

We are manually selecting the "Start Date" and "End date" from the Date Picker in the runtime\While refreshing the report.

 

How to change these Start Date and End date to the default values as shown above.

Hi,

 

I have a publication which sends mail to 25 users. Publication is showing success even when report has partial or not data. Need to fail in these two scenarios and send a mail that data is not available or incomplete.

 

Kindly suggest your views.

Webi Prompt List of values Issue

Hi,

 

I have created a webi prompt with list of value. But at refresh it is not showing list of values.

Use search criteria to retrieve values.

The search is case sensitive. Here are examples of search criteria.

Search = a* -> Retrieve all values starting with "a".

Search = *a -> Retrieve all values ending with  "a".

Search = a*a -> Retrieve all values starting and ending with "a".

Search = a*a* -> Retrieve all values starting and
containing one more "a".

With a * option it will show all List of values.

 

Please suggest how to get List of values in starting only without giving any search criteria.

And also I am using fiscal Year /period dimension object as a prompt . If we  drag and drop the dimension in report, APR 2015 data is
populating.

But in prompt with list of value APR 2015 is not appearing. Please suggest how to get List of values in prompt.

Strange Multivalue Error

Hi,
 
I have created the following formula in one of my documents:
ROST =[COGS]/[TY].[Snapshot Stock Value]*364
 
Then used ROST in another formula:
ROST Bucket =If(([ROST] Between(-10000;0)) Or IsNull([ROST]);"5. Dead Styles";If([ROST] Between(0;2);"3. ROST 0-2";If([ROST] Between(2;4);"2. ROST 2-4";If([ROST] Between(8;100000);"1. ROST 8+";"4. ROST 4-8"))))
 
And Finally created another dimension:
ROST Var =[ROST Bucket] ForEach([Style])
Where, Style = =[L01 Style]+[L01 Style Key] (so that I can identify a unique style)
 
ROST Var works fine and I get a correct display (See screenshot Correct.png)


Correctly Displayed ROST Var
ROST Buckets are displayed as:
1. ROST 8+
2. ROST 2-4
3. ROST 0-2
4. ROST 4-8
5. Dead Styles
 
But everytime I open the document again - I get a multivalue error instead (See screenshot Error.png). Which I can solve by changing something in the document - for example: Change the report name, or update table properties. And when I save the document and close and open it again - Multivalue error reappears. Its not a problem if I have the use the document - as I can keep changing minor things. But I need to send this document out - and make it available for Users.

Calculate the sum of total value in a column

Hello All,

 

We have the following requirement for one of our Webi Report :-

In the above table, the Account group column is merged so that only one value is populated (i.e BANK/LMA). Currently we have achieved till TCV first part i.e values 40 and 5 are coming in respective rows.

 

Now we want to achieve the column marked in yellow. We tried to use Sum for each/ for all options but its not giving the correct values.

 

Request your help in this.
