I am a newbie in BO. I have a field in the report
Event Act = If(IsNull([Future Report].[Special Event Text])) Then [z_Act] Else [Future Report].[Special Event Text]
where z_Act = If(IsNull([z_Activation Start Time])) Then " " Else "Act " +[z_Activation Start Time]
when there is no data for "[z_Activation Start Time]", it is displaying "Act" but i dont want to see "Act" in the field if there no data for "[z_Activation Start Time]".
Any help in this regard?

Hi,
I have a question about the results in a Webi when you limit the rows retrieved.
I limit the query to 300 rows, how the Webi choose the 300 rows from for example 2000 total result of the query. I know that its not the first 300 rows because when i do the query direct in data base with a top 300 the results are different.

I have one scenario. Please suggest me how to do that. I have different cities data with sales revenue. i need to create one WEBI report to the total data. After creation of report i need to send one city data to one user only.
For eg: San Francisco data need to send User 1.
Colorado data need to send to User 2.
Is it possible to send data to user like this. If possible, suggest me how to do.

I'm using business objects 4.1. I have a pretty big report with lots of variables and columns already in it, so I don't want to change too much if I don't have to. But I now need to flag my employees if they have one particualr dimension.
Something like this:
The flag can be anything - I'm not picky. I've been trying to use some combinations of If, Count, and ForEach, but I'm struggling to make it work. I'm trying to google it, but I'm struggling to find the right search terms. I thought I'd throw this out here because I'm sure this will be a piece of cake for someone.

but i want max state sales revenue instead of yrs sales revenue...so i have used for each formula { =max([sales revenue]) foreach([state]) }
now it gives max state sales revenue buti want that state name too....

I have a situation...!
I have 4 different Universes (IDT) Targeting to SQL Data base, Universe_1 - China, Universe_2 - Brazil, Universe_3 - Chile, Universe_4 - Mexico
I have developed 4 Sales report in WebI targeting these 4 universes. Report 1. Sales Report_China......... 4. Mexico.
All the 4 reports same in structure design and has same objects & measure names.
Questions:
1. Now the user wants one report applying a country parameter, were the user can select the different country names and use 1 report instead of 4 different reports.
If this is achievable then there must be a restriction to the users for choosing the parameter and seeing the respective country data.
2. Each country user should/can access to his country only (While choosing the parameter, China user should choose or see only China data.. Likewise other country user should choose or see their own data)
can someone share your experience on how to achieve these 2 situations..?

I have created Webi report based on SAP BW Bex Query, Client want Project wise and plant wise input control.
I have created input control based on Project and its working fine but when i am adding Plant in input control its showing all the values instead of selected project plant.
Please help me , how to resolve this issue.

I have a webi report(Main Report) with 3 prompts. I have a publication requirement as below.
Schedule Run1: Prompt1= Value1, Prompt2=Value2, Prompt3= Value3. Send the output as PDF to a shared location.
Schedule Run 2: Prompt1= Value2, Prompt2= ALL, Prompt3= YYY. Send the output as PDF to a shared location.
.
.
.
Schedule Run 15 : Prompt1 = Value 3, Prompt2=ZZZ, Prompt3= ALL . send the output as PDF to a shared location.
we are using BO 4.0.
Could you please let us know if it can be impletmented with Publications.
I have explored in the net, I thought of creating a list report with all these parameters and driving the Main Report with Pesonalization tab,But problem here is that some of the prompts have ALL values and i can pass ALL to corresponding dimension object.

Now I import existing .unx into my local project (which contains .cns and .dfx )
I need to add two tables in the same data foundation but these two tables are from different database.
Can i use multi sources in my existing .dfx file .
As i found IDT not allowing me to use another connection in the same data foundation

I am using SAP BI 4.1 support pack 3 (14.1.3.1257). I am creating a Webi report using two BEx query with merge dimension and getting #SYNTAX error. Actually problem is when I create some calculated variable in report everything is working fine but suddenly all calculated variable disappear with #SYNTAX error.

I have a scenario and would require your help to move further.
The client to which I am working for has two systems one is a SAP ECC 6 system (Data base is Sybase) and other is a SQL system.
The SQL system is not in use anymore as they have moved to SAP. But the historical data is still in the SQL system.
The require,met is that they need to have BO Webi Reports in place and they require some historical data as well which is in the SQL system.
The generic approach which I would be taking is building a Universe on the ECC system using a Function Module and building a separate universe on the SQL system using ODBC connection. NO BW system in between..
Now I have two questions on this:
1. Is multi source universe, suggested and will that be OK to take that approach?
2. What if the data from both the systems are moved to cloud, will the Universe Designer be able to build a universe on Cloud data, If Yes, please guide me how to go for it?

The example given is select from a list of countries, and based on the selection present only the list of cities within that country. The universe I am working in does not have hierarchical objects.

We have created variables in WEBI report. Now I am planning to create those variables(objects) in universe level.
If the object created in Universe contains variables from one table, I can use the object while creating webi report. But if the Object created in Universe with variables from 2 different table , I am getting error while creating webi report.
Eg:
Table 1 | Table 2 |
A1 | B1 |
A2 | B2 |
A3 | B3 |
I have 2 tables Table1 and Table2 and the respective columns. And i have formulas like
For-1: (A1 * A2)+A3 -- Created Object1 In Universe with this formula
For-2 : (A1 *B1)+B2 --- Created Object2 In Universe with this formula
If I use the Object1 while creating webi report, I am not getting any error. But, If I use Object2, I am getting the below error.
Can someone please help me finding the solution.

Webi freeze option is greyed out. Its enabled for Administrator account but for my account its greyed out.

First Two Rows Showing Wrong Values How Can Achieve Correct result Kindly help On this.

I installed Design Studio 1.4 SP2 add in on the windows 2008R2 server on which i have Business Objects 4.1 SP4, also I installed the same version of design studio on my PC.
I have 4 APS-es with increased memory Xmx to 8g and w new 2 APSes with AnalysisApplicationService with Maximum Client Connections increased to 100 and Xmx8g.
What is more I made additional clones of Dashboard Processing server and Dashboard cash server so now there are 4 each of them with memory increased to 4096M.
When I open the dashboard in Design Studio it is working, but when 8 people is trying to open it i.e. in Bilaunchpad or from Portal, half of them receive info :
Cannot load InfoProvider "DSL/........"(data provider "DS_MTA_MIN_MAX": Exception occured during creation)

Hi all,
I want to build a chart, preferably a bubble chart, where I can display where an orders have been delivered to.
(for example 50.12312 9.121231)
Now, it says that you must have a "pair" of coordinates (formated as a measure) in order to be able to link data to it.
--> The final result should be that I can visualize how many orders are sent in which area (post code).
I know how to do it in MS Excel, but that is just not as nice as if I could do it in Webi...
Please help me, guys
