How to Calculate the previous Financial Qtr Measure Value

Hi Experts ,

 

I am getting the data from bex quey .

 

Prompts on Financial Qtr as From and To.

 

  ex: From : 20104(i.e 2010 yr 4th Qtr) To : 20113(2011 yr 3rd Qtr )

 

 

   am having the formula for %(Pecentage calculation) for Qtr wise :

 

                                 (measure value respective qtr -  measure value of Previous Qtr)/ Measure value of Previous Qtr.

 

ex:  if From :20104(2010 yr 4th Qtr) and To: 20113(2011yr 3rd Qtr)

 

Then I need calculate the % for all Quarters  20104, 20111, 20112, 20113 using the Above formula in cross table .



I asked BI team to provide the data  from : fromQtr -1  to ToQtr 


ex:  Fiancial Qtr        measure

         20103                     2

        20104                      1

        20111                      4

        20112                      2

        20113                      6



So here how we can get the previous qtr measue value to the formula  without using the previous or relative functions.

 

Any other logic to get the measure value of Previous Qtr in the formula .




Plzzz Help me .. very Urgent..

BO WebI error

Hi everyone!

 

we are using SAP BO 4.1 SP6

 

Works fine so far but one of the restricted enterprise users is getting an errormessage saying

"Client received SOAP Fault from server: Your are not authorized to design query (Error: QWS 2718)."

 

This message seems to appear randomly when changing querys in public folders.

User rights are restricted on some of the pulbic folders but no other restrictions are made.

 

I read something about app server restarts but thats not satisfying me. I cant even really approve it because the error appears randomly.

Any suggestions?

Dear Friends,

 

Can any one help me to get resolve the below issue please.

 

I am getting error " This Method should only be called once (WIS 0000). when I try to refresh web intelligence report based on BEX Query.

the report is been successfully refreshed by other 2 colleagues but i am not able to refresh this.

This report was modified by other 2 colleagues and they are able to run the report without any error. We all have same kind of access, rights etc..

Grouped list of value

Hello everyone,

 

I'm trying to make a list of grouped values from a Oracle table, ex

 

 

Table: "product_mobiles"

Values are:

  • iphone 4
  • iphone 5
  • sensation
  • iphone 6
  • galaxy 4
  • galaxy 5
  • iwatch
  • ipod
  • desire
  • one
  • Galaxy Tab

 

 

 

Prompt list in webi must look like this (Multi: user can choose one o more in the list)

  • Apple phones
  • Samsung phones
  • HTC

 

 

In apple phone must include iphone 4,iphone 5, iphone6

in samsung must include galaxy 4,galaxy 5

HTC list must include sensation, desire, one

 

it is possible to making this kind of object?

trace the output location of Webi reports

Hi Guys

There are plans to delete a few physical folders in my workplace . The problem is ,some of the webi report publications are setup to be saved in some particular folders so I have to look for the impact on these reports if some of those folders got deleted... Is there a simple way?

Previous month Sales

Hi everyone,

 

I have a report with a table where I have dimension Products and I need to calculate sales from a month (the client select that month) and the sales of the previous month.

 

I add a filter bar where a person could filter the month. The table shows me Sales for the selected month. Now I have to calculate the sales of the previous month.

 

I apply the expresion: =Month(RelativeDate([Date];-31)) to get the previous month.

 

The problem appear when I try to get the sales of these month. I use: If [Month]=[Previous Month] Then [Sales]

 

But the expresion don't show anything. Someone could help me?

WEBI : Dimension values not displayed in the same row

Hi Everyone

 

I'm able to create cool complex reports but this one is driving me crazy, so if you guys can help me on it would be fantastic so thanks in advance.

Let's assume the following :

I have two dimensions : "Question" and "Answer"

 

 

The report I would like to design should look like this one

 

What I tried to do is proceeding by name and started with Lynda's case , in the top value below banana 2 I added the following function : =[Answer]Where([Attribute="How many bananas did Lynda eat")]

The good part is that I had the right answer 2 but the bad part is that when I moved to the second fruit Apple and I added the following function into the cell : =[Answer]Where([Attribute="How many apples did Lynda eat")] I had the following table :

 

 

The dimension value didn't want to go into the same row and it instead created a new row "Lynda" and added the value under. Note that the answer dimension values are in "text" and not "numbers".

 

Can anyone please help me on this or suggest another way to have my table done

Displaying Counts of Unique IDs For a Given Period with Hidden Dimensions

Hi,

 

I'm trying to simplify a Webi report so that a total count of unique ID numbers are listed for each Year/Quarter period in a table.  The main complication is that there are additional dimensions in the table (culled from two separate queries) that are used to arrive at these counts per Year/Quarter.  I've tried various SUM and COUNT combinations with different operators (In, ForEach...) but have not had any luck.

 

Excluding the hidden dimensions, the table looks like this (with a break added for Year/Quarter) :

 

 

GroupYear/QuarterID#
Group 12013/041234
2013/044567
Count([ID];Distinct) = 2
2014/017891
Count([ID];Distinct) = 1

 

However, I would like to show just the distinct counts for each Year/Quarter:

 

 

GroupYear/QuarterTotal ID#s

2014/011

 

Is there a way to either:

 

a) create a new variable that would provide the total count of unique ID#s for each Year/Quarter?

 

or b) hide the ID#s in the first example, merge the duplicate values in the Year/Quarter break, and just show the Count([ID];Distinct) rows for each Year/Quarter?

 

Any help would be much appreciated!

Cross tab report not displaying latest data

Hello All,

 

I have a cross tab report as sen below:

 

Name                         2014           2015

                                    Dec             Jan          Feb          Mar          Apr          May

 

Payable                     123              12              45          67             89           10

 

Receivable                1                    2               3              4               5             6

 

Accounting                 1                   5               8               5               2            2

 

However, when i refresh the data it does not return any results for June, July, Aug, Sep and latest months.

 

Is there any way I can modify this cross tab to return the data from the recent months as well?

#ERROR columns when ALL materials selected

Dear All,

 

I have a report with 42000 materials and about 100 columns the report (BEx query) runs fine when a few materials selected but it fails with #ERROR in few columns such as a variable 'Pallet net weight' with below formula:

 

=If([Material].[Material - Weight unit (Key)]="G";

Round((ToNumber([Material].[Material - Net Weight (Key)]))*[Units Per Cases]*ToNumber([Material].[Material - Cases per Pallet (Key)])/453.592;3);

Round((ToNumber([Material].[Material - Net Weight (Key)]))*[Units Per Cases]*ToNumber([Material].[Material - Cases per Pallet (Key)]);3))

 

here [Material - Net Weight (Key)] and [Material - Cases per Pallet (Key)] are Material attributes as in the image

I am a little confused why it shows values for few materials (ex: 150 materials), as below

How to merge totals from different categories into one column

Hi All,

 

I have a cross tab as seen below in Webi that has data for Jan, Feb and Mar however empty for April and May:

I have another cross tab that has data for April and May but nothing before that.

How do i merge the results of these 2 cross tab to only have Location as USA, City as Los Angeles and data in all the months up until May 2015 as seen below?

4.1.6 FHSQL @Prompt capabilities

Hi,

 

I am currently having issues with trying to prompt in Webi 4.1 SP06 using FHSQL and a Stored Procedure. I am assuming what works for universes in 4.1.5 works in Webi for 4.1.6 with regards to @prompt. What i would like is to create the prompt on the SP in the FHSQL area of Webi, to allow a user to pull from a list of values already defined on the dimension in use.

 

I believe i have my syntax correct, up until calling out a dimension in the stored procedure for a list of values:

 

@Prompt('Portfolio Description','C', [?],Multi,Constrained),

I found information online regarding the syntax when using universes, but i am not sure if the syntax is the same for Webi.

 

@Prompt(‘message’,‘type’,[lov],[MONO|MULTI],[FREE|CONSTRAINED],[Persistent|non-persistent],[default value], User:0)

 

’message’ - Text of the prompt message. The text must be enclosed between single quotes, for example, ‘Choose a Region’.

 

'type' - Can be 'A' alphanumeric, 'N' number, 'D' date

 

'lov' - list of values that user can choose. This can be a hardcoded list or you can point to an existing object in the universe to grab a list.

 

Mono|Multi - user can either select from 1 value or list of values

 

Free|Constrained - user can enter value of their choice or be forced to select

 

Persistent|non-persistent - report prompt selections values will either be saved or not saved for the future default-value - you can populate the prompt with a default value

Issue exporting Old dates data to Excel

Hi,

 

We have a Date columns where we have dates as 1/1/0001. When the WebI Report is exported to excel the values for 1/1/0001 is showing up as ######## instead of 1/1/0001.

 

The users are fine if the excel shows up as 1/1/0001 instead of #########.

 

Has any one came across this issue and has any work around, so while exporting to excel it displays the date as in WebI.

Contexts unset in Web Intelligence

Dear all,

 

I have a WebI report which is developed on top of 2 Queries that are coming from two universes. The issues is that there is a prompt "Company Code" which does not display list of the values and instead it is showing "Context Unset".

 

In modify mode we don't have this issue and the values get displayed after selecting the context for Company Code.

 

Is this a bug or anything that we can do to resolve this issue.

I migrate 3.1 webi report and universe to 4.1, everything is ok.

 

But when I refresh webi report with webi intelligence rich client,  context selection prompts, as follows,

How to view publication reports

Hi,

 

I am publishing the reports in pdf format by using BI launch pad publication. Publication delivers multiple documents in pdf format to the corresponding dynamic recipients successfully.

 

I wanted to see the reports which it got delivered. I went into history and clicked on the Title it only displays as a log.

"No Values to Display" in Query Filter

Hi All,

 

I'm using BEX Query to generate WEBI Report. In Query Filters, I have draged an Object to filter an value, but in "Value(s) from the List" Option I couldnt see any values from the source systerm by entering search pattern "*" instead it displays "No values to display". In Source System this object has values.

 

Please guide me to proceed further.

Retrieving PDF report from BO4.1 Webservice

I am trying to migrate my web service client from BO 3.x to BO 4.1 Restful.

 

The existing implementation of BO 3.x use below inputs and using BO java SDK it retrieves CUID and doc properties to get the PDF report.

 

  1. Report Path : path://InfoObjects/Root Folder/Application Name/Report Name.rpt
  2. Fill Parameter List
    1. Parameter 1, Parameter 2, Parameter 3 etc to identify a report.

 

I have constructed my client code to get Logon token from RESTful web service. However I am not sure how to retrieve the PDF file now in BO 4.1.

 

Many of the samples I have seen uses sIDType and iDocID parameters along with Token value to retrieve the documents.

Is it must to have iDocID to retrieve document or do we have any other way to retrieve the PDF document with the Report Path and parameter values ?

 

Please assist me on it. Thanks
