Measure dipaly based on Second Highest Max Date

Hi,



I have a requirement in webi report to dispaly records as  sales Revenue for Max. Date  and  sales Revenue for second Highest Max Date


Report As below:

Product Id, Product Name ,Agent  Id, Agent Name,  Max_Date, New_Sale Revenue, Old_Date, Old_Sale Revenue


For Maximum sales Revenue I used Max. function in Universe and in the report with separate DP for Max Date
generating with Max. Date Sales Revenue as expected.
=(Sales_Revenue) where DP1.Date= DP2.Date.It works as expected when i used separate data provider DP2 for Max Date.But i need to display at the same time second Highest Max Date sales revenue in  Old_Date, Old_Sale Revenue columns in report structure.

Please suggest how can i generate in the same report Old_Date and Old_Sale Revenue as (Sales revenue for second Highest Max Date).

How to use Multiple patterns inside the Match function in WEBI-4.2?

Hi Gurus,

      Kindly help me to sort the issue out.I have a requirement of displaying certain fields which matches multiple patterns.To ellaborate:

"There is a field called -"Legacy Name1" which has to be displayed  according to the pattern which contains "“C/O”, “CARE OF”, “ATTENTION “...etc.

As an instant solution i have included multiple filters,which is working fine.But i was trying the other way round by creating a variable using the "Match() function",but its not working.Is there any possible way to include multiple matching patterns seperated by commas like:

 

=If Match([LEGACY NAME1];"*CO*","*CareOf*","*ATTN*") Then [LEGACY NAME1]

 

the above is not working although.

Second input control resets the first input control

We are migrated to BO3.1 SP7 FP2.

 

 

I have a WEBI report with 8 input controls. When I make a selection for the first input control, the selection works fine on the grid. But when I make a selection for the second input control, it resets the first input control and I only see the selection of the second input control on the grid (and not the First input control selection).

 

When I'm working in the EDIT modus it all works fine.

 

How I can solve this issue?

 

Before we were working with BO3.1 SP5 and here it was working fine.

 

Further details:

Version: BOXI3.1 SP7 FP2

Server: Windows 2008

Web-server: Tomcat

How to get difference between 2 measure in a Column chart.

have a requirement of displaying the difference of 2 measures in a column chart.  Any one have any Idea on this ?

Printing Issues In WebI

Hi Everyone --

 

I'm having a few issues printing a report in WebI:

 

- First, I tried opening as a PDF document to print.  The problem here is that I have hyperlinks in my report that are in black font.  When the webi is exported to PDF, the hyperlinks all become blue...almost the same color as the cell they are in, so it is almost illegible.  Does anyone know how to change this either in Adobe Reader or WebI so the links are black in the PDF like they are in the WebI?

 

- Next I tried printing straight from the WebI (pressing the print button).  The problem here is that part of my footer (the right side) is getting cut off.  I know I can just manually move these objects until the printout looks ok, but I have an image in my header that is further to the right that is automatically moved to the right edge of the page.  Is this not possible with a different type of object in WebI?  I can't align my footer objects with the image, or "align right" with the page or footer.  Any ideas?

 

Any help would be appreciated...

Date Variable - Show only Next 20 Days

Hi again Folks,

 

in Webi 4.1, can i create a variable to display the data for today and the next 20 days.

 

Table should look like below

 

18-Jan19-Jan20-Jan21-Jan22-Jan23-Jan24-Jan25-Jan26-Jan27-Jane.t.c

 

I tired the following formula but didn't give the desired result:

 

New Variable=[Date]>RelativeDate(CurrentDate();-1)

 

Any help would be appreciated.

Webi report with multiple restrictions

I am struggling with a webi report that has multiple restrictions and thought I would post it here for some help.

The report results needs to show all Value1's where the Year is 2015, but NOT if Value1 also has a year of 9999.  When I try to filter on the Year or date, the results still shows the other dates for 990000323,  but if the 990000323 has a date of 12/31/9999, we want all of the records for that one excluded.  So the results should only have the record for 990000301 because there is no date after 2015.  Can any suggest a way to resolve this?

Hierarchy appearing flat in Infoview - webi report

Dear All,

 

I have a hierarchy based webi report (4.1 SP6). In the rich client , it appears fine in hierarchy fashion but when seen in the infoview it appears flat.

 

Webi rich client:

 

Country 1

   State 1

     City 1

     City 2

 

Country 2

   State 2

     City 3

     City 4

 

Info view:

 

Country 1

State 1

City 1

City 2

 

Country 2

State 2

City 3

City 4

 

How can I let the report see in hierarchy fashion in infoview also and in a better way with more spaces added? Also when I export the report into excel, it appears flat with no hierarchy fashion.Kindly assist me on this.

variable generating extra row - how to remove

Hi,

 

I created a Dimension named HoursPeriod contains multiple if statements. When drag on the report, at the end it generating extra row.

 

Kindly let me know why its generating extra row at bottom. I can hide and show this one. But i don't want to do.

 

Please let me know how to remove. Is any modification here in the following code blow.

Switching a Webi Universe from a report

Hi All,

 

I have a situation going on with our BO system. Recently, we lost a universe(reason undisclosed) with it's folder from the system and all reports connected to that Universe won't refresh due to no underlying universe. We were able to promote a copy of this universe from QA env. so the universe is back in place now but the reports won't automatically connect to this universe, each time I try to edit the report it comes up with a error "This query cannot be edited". I was wondering if there is a way to manually point the report to the new universe that was recently promoted to make up for the existing one. I tried opening the report in rich client as it would let you change the data provider but in this case that option is greyed out.

As a back up plan, I can create these reports again based on the recently promoted universe but now I have no visibility to the Query panel too, so figuring out the filters and conditions used in the report is also an issue.

 

To summarize what I'm looking at this point :

 

1) Is there a way to switch the universe of the report and point to the new one (it's an identical copy) when the option is greyed out?

2) is there any way I can find out what filters/conditions are used within a report when the query panel shows as blank with only an error message ?

 

Any insight on this will be very much appreciated, please feel free to share your thoughts on this.

WebI Cascading Prompts OK button deactivated greyed out

We have created 2 WebI reports that differ only by language. One works fine the other does not but it used to. We changed the order of the prompts and it stopped working but changing it back to the original order and that didn't fix it.

 

We have a cascading prompt Year / Dept / AoM. When we use it in a WebI report the prompts come up as expected in the correct order with the correct list of values....BUT the "OK" button on the prompt dialog is deactivated (greyed out). No matter how we change the order the "OK" is never activated.

This only happens with the HTML client which is what our users are using. The JAVA applet is not available to them for reasons we won't go into.

 

We are not the only ones to experience this, refer to Forum Topics Http://www.forumtopics.com/busobj/viewtopic.php?p=1007575 and they also have not found a solution.

 

This is obviously a show stopper.

One database fetch for all recipients - used to work!

I have 40+ Webi publications all using the Advanced Setting - One database fetch for all reports. These have been working for the last 2 years.

Following a restart of our servers on Tuesday, none of my publications with this setting run. The error given is "Webi publications do not support "One database fetch for all recipients" bursting method (FBE60225)

 

It's odd that Webi did support that method up until Tuesday so what has changed?

 

 

If I change the setting on the Publication to One database fetch per recipient, they work but this isnt' really a solution but a workaround.

 

Anyone any experience of this issue?

 

 

We are using BI 4.1 SP 6.

Oracle Analytic Function

Im building a modality turnaround time report and I'm trying to filter out patients who are only listed once. Wondering if you know what that function may be I have 'person name' but Im thinking I should switch from 'Person Name- Full' and add 'MRN' and look for that specific analytic function that will keep MRN's that appear twice and remove or hide ones that do not. Any ideas?

My thought is if I can keep the patients that appear twice-they had two modalities and I can compute the 'daysinbetween' which i found that function.

I had heard a while back that the goal for 4.2 was to have feature parity between the Java version and the HTML version of the Web Intelligence Web Editor. Does anyone know if that has happened? Or are there still feature differences between the two?

Viewing xcelsius dashboard (Live Office) via Portal

Hi,

 

 

I have developed an xcelsius dashboard using live office connection and exported using html.

Dashboard is running fine for internal users (Intranet network).

For external users (Out of the network) users, I followed the below steps:

 

  1. Exported dashboard to business objects platform
  2. Created open document link
  3. Portal team embedded the link to an image on Portal
    website. So that when user clicks on the image, it goes to BO and looks for the
    document id and run the dashboard.

     

My Portal team has created a proxy server for displaying dashboard on Portal website.

 

We have deployed crossdomain.xml file on our BO tomcat server.

 

 

But my issue is when the user clicks on the link, we need to enter BO login and after entering the authentication, it returns the #2170 error.

 

#2170 error:

Cannot access external data:

 

To access external data, add a cross domain policy file to external data web server.

For more information, on the Adobe website, see the article “cross domain policy file specification”.

 

If the problem persists, contact the file creator or your system administrator.

Error : Error #2170.

Connection type :
Live office connection

File URL:

Proxy server URL to business objects

External URL:

Business Objects Server URL

 

 

Our production dashboard needs to have users from the Internet as well as from our intranet.

 

Internet users must go through a reverse proxy (server Y), because the intranet BO server is not reachable from the Internet.  The
traffic flows from browser to server Y, and server Y makes its own connection to server X.

 

The dashboard Flash file downloads correctly over this connection.  But the refresh fails, because the app is trying to connect to server X (the BO server).  Server X’s name can’t be resolved because it’s not in the public-facing DNS, and even if it were, the host is unreachable due to firewalls and security policy.

 

 

This is happening because the dashboard is using a hard-coded URL for the BO server that was inserted by Xcelsius ((Application Option in LIVE OFFICE and in Data Manager Connection).

 

 

The dashboard needs to build the server URL at runtime instead of using the hard-coded BO server URL.

 

Is there a way to pass a parameter to the dashboard app, via the HTML file that references the Flash file or some other way?

 

Or is there any other way, I can resolve this issue?

Using complex webi Report Table as data source in a different Report in Webi

Hi Web Intelligence team,

 

I have a complex webi report which needs to have detailed level information to get a correct calculation of the measures in it.

Removing any of the details result incorrect calculation and various errors in the report.

 

The question is if there is a way to keep the detailed report on one Report sheet and using the content of the detailed report in another Report sheet to create a summarized view?

Using maybe special references which picks up the results of the table calculation like [Report1].[MeasureResult1] and not referring to the base queries?

 

I also tried to save the table as a data source however in web intelligence I only could find save as excel which I would like to avoid.

I would prefer to create aggregated calcuation within Webi and not in other spreadsheets.

Question Regarding Applying Filter Through User Query

Hello Everyone,

 

I am trying to find a way to make a report which pulls two years worth of data for comparison filter the information on a monthly level by the user's selection. I am working in a Boxi system using Webi reports. What I would like to figure out is if I can get a prompt on the Refresh All button so that the report will request the Month information as a filter or if there is a way to apply filters for months across years that I am missing. Below are screens for what I have as a report and what the refresh screens are requesting. When I try using a simple filter as the option it only allows me to choose a single month. For what you see below I have applied a filter to the entire report in the Edit screen which gives me what I wanted but I cannot figure out how to update that without going back to the Edit screen and I don't want users doing that if possible.

Invalid Mime Type when Scheduling a report as an attachment

We are in a Business Objects 4.1 environment and I am having problems with scheduled jobs that email reports as attachments. I have tried to email both Excel and PDF formats and both are now working correctly.

 

When I run the report in BI, I can save the report as an Excel spreadsheet (i.e. xlsx),

 

I have tried to email an Excel file as an attachment and when I look at the actual email that is sent out by Business Objects, I see that the Content-Type for the Excel file shows up as "application/octet-stream", but since it is an Excel Spreadsheet, it should be showing up as "Content-Type: application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.spreadsheetml.sheet".

 

Why is this happening and How can I resolve the problem?

Need help on Webi report data retrieval issue

Dear Friends,

 

I have build an universe in IDT and created query in Business Layer.

 

I am getting correct count(9000) in the query result in BL.

 

But when I create the same query in Webi , It is not giving the correct result. row counts are less(8000).

 

But I have not limited the result rows in universe. I have attached the screenshot for  the query options tab.

Can anyone suggest me a way to trouble shoot or what may went wrong?

 

 

So that I can proceed the trouble shooting.
