Pass Multiple Prompt Values Dynamically in a Publication

Hello

I have a dynamic list for list for my Publications of a Web Intelligence Document. The dynamic list has the following columns names

ID

Name

Email

Zone

and the Web Intelligence document has the columns:

Zone

Sales Value

 

I can't use Profiles because some of the recipients in the dynamic list do not have a BOE account

 

Lets say I use the following values

ID = 1   

Name = Sally 

Email = Sally@mytown.com

Zone = USA

 

This works fine and if I change the value of the Zone to another single value, (maybe Sally has been reallocated to a different Sales Region) for example:

ID = 1   

Name = Sally 

Email = Sally@mytown.com

Zone = UK

 

then this also works fine and the output from the Publication shows the correct value.

 

However, when I try and do the following, I run into problems:

ID = 1   

Name = Sally 

Email = Sally@mytown.com

Zone = USA;UK

 

The resultant output is blank!!! The prompt that is in my document that I want to burst is set to optional. I've tried using:

semicolons: for example USA;UK

commas: for example USA,UK

brackets and semicolons: for example (USA;UK)

brackets and commas: for example (USA,UK)

 

but nothing works and the resultant output is empty

 

Also, passing in a blank value for the optional prompt to return everything but this does not work either and the resultant output is empty.

 

I can't believe that this is not possible and would welcome any suggestions.

How to let every chart start with the begincolor of the palette style

Hi,

 

I've a WEBI with a lot of charts. The report is divided by sections. I've choosen a certain palette style. I've noticed that BO continuously uses all colors. And when all 32 colors are used, he starts all over again with those colors.

 

My question is : how can I manage that every chart starts again with the first color of the palette style. If you browse threw the document, it looks quite chaotic with all those colors changing.

 

Hope this is solvable.

Star values in the data

Hello,

 

I I am using business objects to extract data from a specific report, however, for some of the values, I get stars (*). Especially when I remove filters. I attached an example where I try to get sales values from several profit centers. When I add customer field to the row, stars disappear for most accounts, but remain for others.

 

Can this be fixed at the user level or what needs to be done by the people who developed the cubes.

BOBJ Security Not Working On QA

Team,

 

We are implementing BOBJ for a client. After setting up user groups and assigning security at the folder levels (Inheritance) We created users in the backend BW system and pulled them into BO where we assigned user groups. Each folder was restricted to see only specific user groups.

For eg - User group Financial Accounting will only be able to see the FA folders.

 

We tested this out on the Development system and everything worked well. I used promotion manager to move the changes to QA. Security and dependencies were all taken into account and the promotion went through well.


Checked BO QA and all the folders looked fine..


But in QA, when I created the same test users in BQ dev backend and assigned the user group to the test id's, nothing works when we test.


The test id does not see any folders. Would you know what did I basically miss here ?

Hyperlink with Element linking on same table

Hello Experts,

 

We have a requirement to have hyperlink to detail report and also have element linking from same table to another chart in same report.Reports are created on web intelligence.

 

I have created report to have hyperlink on date to open detail report on new window and also mapped same table to link to other chart on same report. both functionality works fine in design mode. But issue comes in HTML mode when i try to use element linking. It hangs the report and nothing come up.

 

Anyone know any know limitation to use both functionality on same table?

 

Environment:

 

SAP Business Objects 4.1 SP5 Patch 4

Help me on this WEBI error

Hi Team,

 

While opening Webi report its taking long time, and am getting following error

 

 

"while trying to invoke the method com.sap.sl.dictionary.DirectoryExpressing.getID() of a null object returned from com.businessobjects.rebean.wi.model.reportspec.IDictionaryExpressionFilter.getExpression()"

 

Please find the attachment and help me on this ASAP.

Data not being displayed in BOBJ Report

Hi,

 

I am trying to run a Cost Incurred Report in BOBJ,

 

Data is displayed perfectly for Curr type - 20, but nothing is displayed for Curr type - 30.

 

Data is there in underlying DSO and MP for Curr type - 30 too.

 

Please  advise.

Error while executing BO Webi report

Hello All,

 

We are facing an issue with Webi reports.

 

When ever we are running the Webi report we are getting error "Attempted to retrieve a document from a closed report engines".

 

But we are getting this issue only for couple of reports only, not for all Webi reports.

 

Could you please some one help us to resolve this issue.

Oracle Analytic Function

Im building a modality turnaround time report and I'm trying to filter out patients who are only listed once. Wondering if you know what that function may be I have 'person name' but Im thinking I should switch from 'Person Name- Full' and add 'MRN' and look for that specific analytic function that will keep MRN's that appear twice and remove or hide ones that do not. Any ideas?

My thought is if I can keep the patients that appear twice-they had two modalities and I can compute the 'daysinbetween' which i found that function.

How to count only the number of empty rows ?

Hi Gurus

         I am facing a problem related to displaying the count of specific object([Legacy Postal Code] and [Cleansed Postal code] in my case)which are having empty records.I have used IsNull() but it fails for those set of records which are having Numeric values and not displaying the exact count due to this.The IsNumber() function is not working as well.Could anyone help in providing the solution for this?Attached below the screenshots for reference:

Can I create a WebI report DIRECTLY on a HANA view WITHOUT Universe?

I have an HANA Analytic view which I want to use as the source for a WebI report. I have seen that the standard practice seems to be to create a Universe in IDT using the analytic view as source from sys_bic schema.

 

My question is - is this the only way?

 

is a Universe mandatory in this scenario? OR

 

is it possible to consume a HANA Analytic view DIRECTLY by WebI without an intermediary Universe?

compare data from excel with bi query in webi

Hi,

 

First of all I am sorry to raise this issue because it seems similar to many issues in this forum. But I was not able to get correct answer from any of those that's why finally I have to raise it as new discussion.

 

I have a data provider from excel where I have

and another data provider from Bex query.

"Material" in excel and "Material SAP" in bex are showing Material Number and bex is having "Spend" key figure.

Our requirement is to get Bex and Excel dimension wise Spend value where Material of Excel matches Material of Bex.

We need to keep that data in report where Material of Excel = Material of Bex.


Show:

Fiscal year wise Spend

Fiscal Period wise Spend

Application wise Spend

Technology wise Spend

 

I have created one variable called "Map" which is

Map

= if([Excel].[Material] = [Bex].Material SAP];1;0)

 

and placed a filter on report, Map = 1 but when i try to see Fiscal year or fiscal period wise spend then it shows spend value of all Material instead it should show only those material spend where Map condition is fulfilled.

But as I put Map field in between the table view the it start showing correct values.

I want that anyhow we get correct Spend amount without putting "Map" variable in between. Same kind of behavior we are getting with Excel's field wise Spend value.

WebI Outer Join across two Universes

Hello,

 

Could someone point me to a tutorial showing how I might accomplish this SQL query in Web intelligence.  My problem is that the two 'tables' in my query are from two different Universes.

 

SELECT A.AccountID,A.AccountName,A.AccountStatus from Table1 A left outer join Table2 B on A.AccountID = B.AccountID where B.AccountID is null.

 

I don't have rights to access anything but building reports in Web Intelligence.  I can't seem to find the magic Google key words to get any good answers.

 

Web Intelligence Version 4.1 build 14.1.6.1805

Hi Experts,

 

we are facing an issue with TOREFRESH we are using 4.1 BICS conncetion.

 

In our webi report we have input control on product webi report is working fine.

 

when am using the input control for the specific product its giving error #TOREFRESH.

Duplicates when export to excel - Webi report

Hi All,

 

I'm working on a Webi report that's based on merged dimensions at the report level and has an "INDICATOR" variable that converts 0 & 1 to Y & N. I'm trying to filter for only Y from INDICATOR as by doing that it hides duplicate rows and the displayed rows are all unique(I verified that). Next, when I export it to excel, the duplicate rows are visible there.

Could there be a conflict due to filter on a variable and merged dimension ? Has anyone ever experienced a similar problem or can share some insights on what might be causing it.

 

Your replies on this will be greatly appreciated.

when data for plant is there then only the plant get selected

Dear Gurus,

 

I have a report with plant id as report level filter(input control).when i want to filter value for month,

one of the plant is not having data for only for year 2013 and 2014.

 

 

when user select 2015 the data is empty so the plant should not be in list.

 

 

The plant should find only selected if and only if the data for corresponding plant is there other wise that  plant only should hide.

 

I have tried in all ways but i am   unable to solve the issue

 

 

Ex:

2012-----1000

2013----  2000

2014----  3000

2015-----0---the plant name should hide

2016-----0--the plant name should hide
